Just Indian national congress did not free India there were many many others throughout India. Also the Indian National Congress formed by British AOHume was dissolved soon after indias independence. Even in pre independence India, there were lot of difference s in opinion among the members.
Shri mohandas Karam Chand Gandhiji was biased and favour of Nehru and wanted Jawaharlal Nehru to be PM of India. Next gandhiji used congress as the new party name for independent indias success. But from the time of independence from congress party dynastic rule except fir a short period Shri. Manmohan Singh was made pm but reigns were with Sonia ji.
When we say congress we remember 20 point programme printed on books and national emergency whenever ruling pm felt insecure. This is not personal.opinion but from good historical texts and hearsay from previous generation.
