- With 2023 being the last year of competitive Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, we put together a tribute of all the amazing memories that we've captured at HLTV from the game that we love.
Counter-Strike 2 may be the future but CS:GO will always be in our hearts.

2012: CS is dying.
2024: A love letter to CS:GO
2024: CS is dying.
2036: A love letter to CS2
@@jejebobofficiel woxic said one time in his stream : cs never gonna die even if they re release the game people still gonna play it anyway
From a 38 old year man, that played 24 years off and on, I can confirm, the best game out of there and nothing come close
Same. 35 here. I miss the old days honestly. Enjoy your youth.
+1
Same here brother. GL to u.
ha, you and me both my friend 8)
m2 35years, first play on cs since 2000 year, absolutely best FPS in the world!
CS:GO wasn't just a game. It was part of our lives. No game has left such a hole in my heart and none other can fill it. 🖤
maybe the community can start something like #bringbackcsgo
The question we should be asking experts is why we are all so addicted to this game?
Cs2 is basically csgo but updated quit crying and come in mm premiere so i can send you back to csgo properly
I play FACEIT. Better servers and better players.@@_Philip_.
Then online player count so much ? @_Philip_.
I don't know French, but every time I hear Scrawny say those lines in French during the last Major's final; it gives me goosebumps, hypes me up.
Cest votre major
Cest votre moment
Pour la scene de counter strike
Allez alllez alllez
It’s your major
It’s your moment
For the counter strike scene
Come on/let’s go x3
same
That was a very special moment in my life and a memory I'll cherish forever. It's an honour to be part of our game's history.
Look who is here @scrawny himself.
Dude keep up the energy. Love it
So imagine if you are French ? Goosebumps !! Especially when you know what happens next 🔥
The old maps at the end hit right through the heart ❤
Absolutely this.
yea.. felt like an empty park. a special ones
Some cried, some lie and say they don't
I love that this video started with a true OG narrating it such as TAZ!
I miss this game so much...
Same:(
more than my ex
Hint: If you boot up CS2 you get 99% of the experience
@@MultiStarboard Shut up silver :D
@@MultiStarboard like 50% of the experience tbh.
As a person, who played cs 1.5, 1.6, source, csgo... I cried...
I am not playing anymore but, just want to say that it was please time to spend with... I wish CS2 the best, nothing more...
1.3er here. Glad csgo is dead

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Cs 1.6 best for it's movement and wallbangs, css best for it's versatile modded servers and communities through them, csgo best for it's competitive, specially early years, late years were too much of "everything needs to look new and feel new", no one wanted it. Cs2 movement sucks, gunplay is way different, they raped most loved maps, yeah looks pretty but that's it. Can't play csgo anymore :( Idk why they removed it totally as they could have left it behind it as it were and just remove competitive mode out.
Everything after 1.6 GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE
The ending hit me hard, made me realize that there is no going back to this, we had the perfect opportunity witness what we have today in the making.
I really hope Valve treats this game with care and respect like they have done at times in the past, they have a jewel on their hands.
Thank you, Valve and CSGO Developers, for making the game we knew and loved.
Seeing all those iconic old style maps just hits you hard. CSGO was once a home during that period.
the maps, moments, hit regs, the players vibes
i miss those
TaZ is the reason why i played CS. Thank you, TaZ & HLTV
goosebumps, memories, the best game of all time
I'm 38 years old, I started playing CS when I was 18. It all blinked by so fast. The late night mIRC scrims in #sourceinvite (inviteonly), xfire, making new friends from scrims/pugs. Forming a team to win CAL-O, getting destroyed by a invite/main remake team. Then doing the whole thing all over again the following season. I wouldn't trade CS for anything, it is the best game in the world to me. It has given me life long friends and memories. Fuck COD, CS IS LIFE! IF YOU'RE GOOD AT CS, YOU WILL DESTROY ANYONE IN ANY OTHER FPS! LET'S FUCKIN GO BOYS!!!!
When a love letter tributed to a video game gives you chills, it's the greatest feeling.
I love you CS:GO. Always have, always will. We miss you. 🧡
this shit almost brought a tear to my eyes, I was 13-15 years old grinding CS:GO got to LEM and I remember when CS:GO was all I knew in life. glad to grow up and grow SO MUCH as a person, but sometimes miss the days of staying up until 7am grinding this game every single summer for 3 years straight.
2017-2022 Best gaming years of my Life, 5 years to this Beautiful game
Taz cs 1.6 interviews always gives me chills man
I still remember when i was 4~5 years old, i was sitting next to my dad and he played 1.6. I really enjoyed watching his play. But now, my dad sitting and i playing cs2.
so what now? does he enjoy watching you play cs2?
@@gitarre_spielen my dad played semi pro in source, and now he spectates my esea team's games sometimes at work
@@es0x , that's fine
Never know csgo was a good game until cs2 came
onegayer detected
Play 1.6 u filthy gotard
You really triggered some retired people 😅
I really like how, in CS2, you kill a guy and he falls down dead after one second. Amazing feature
nah cs2 is shit
It was never about the destination but the journey. Made a few memories that are going to last forever. Thank you, CS:GO, for being my escape from reality. 💙
CS is not dying, CS is never dying, it is just we are dying.
vac is dead
but was it ever alive actually?
i'll leave that to u to think about.
Devs need to show a lot more love to the game though for how much money they have made off of it
nah cs2 fucking blows brother
You thought you did something here

I love this game since 99. I had to stop playing it for years because of job and family but i never felt it get so bad like it is today.
Editor deserves a raise, lovely video
Counter-Strike has always been a part of my life since CS beta 6.0. I'm very thankful to the devs Gooseman and Jess Cliffe for creating such a masterpiece which has become legacy in the gaming world. And I'm thankful to my brother for showing me this game. It has changed my life and it gave me one of the best moments of it.
a game loved by millions
I'm playing this game since 2014. I was 15 y.o... I can't believe how many unforgettable emotions this game has given me. How many interesting people I met there. This game is the one that brought me together with my friends who have become the best for me in 10 years. Even if sometimes we argued, thank you all for being in my life. I love everyone, wish you luck, and unforgettable victories in CS2!
I'm writing this comment rn to see it and this video again many many years into the futue and remember all these happy thousand of hours I've spent in CS:GO. I love you, Global Offensive!
I just don't understand how time went by so fast. Feels like yesterday I played the beta.
GG
First few seconds reminds me of those 1,6 LAN parties we did during primary school and the fact that i remember most of these moments makes it even better. Ty csgo

This is truly the definition of "Enough to make a grown man cry".
1.6 player from very early age. I pre ordered csgo, and followed the scene from 2014 to 2019 , signed up on HLTV in 2016. It was some lonely years in my life that CSGO helped out with.
"C'est votre Major, c'est votre moment" INCROYABLE
i never saw the major when NiP won it, but bro, seing get right crying in front ot the trophy is hurting me so much, what an absolute legend
Good old days, this game will be remember for years to come.
Masterpiece
I'm not crying, you're crying.
I almost 36 years old. Counter-Strike is part of our healthy childhood. When we are 60, we will know better than ever ♥
i really miss csgo man..... its part of my life for so long.. i grew up with that game
maaan the goosebumps the tears in my eye i swear this game makes me feel things even thou life got in between us but at still watching games...forever iin love with CS
It was a huge part of my life. Can’t say that cs2 is going to be. 1.6 and csgo marked my childhood days. Time to move on. Goodbye❤️
2023 wasn't the year where cs2 was realeased, it was the year where csgo ended.
I love this video man, Got my memories from the past.
Counter Strike will never die. Still playing 21 years later ❤️
Man I’m gonna miss csgo forever
I cried so strongly, thoses words at Paris resound in me when I was in the Arena. That's the end of an era, but the start of a new one.
Thanks CS GO
this video gave me goosebumps, thank you for all cs:go
It's still so sad that it's gone! 💔
CS:GO is true masterpiece and the best game that I played in my life. Now I already see that cs2 will never be better.
Miss so much :(
Thank you csgo and source to give so much friends along 14 years of playing cs.
Its very sad what its happening with cs2.
Good moments lived :)
thanks
Old inferno giving me goosebumps
So many people left this counter strik bubble and lived the real world and it feels like it was so loong time ago and at the same time like yesterday
ive made some of my best friends playing this game. I will always cherish this game
Can't hold my tears CS:GO is love CS:GO was life...
CSGO ending lines up perfectly with me turning 20… like man this is hard enough now even valve is telling me my teens are over
for those who looking for BGM, it's Aleksey Chistilin - Pictures from the Past.
thank you
Even though I only became part of Counter-Strike world because of my departure from Dota 2 in late 2020, those mere 3 years that I had with this game were so unbelievable, this video shreds me with tears
Goosebumps.... every fucking time :'(
I was 18 when 1.3 was released and I started to play. I like the old CS more (people call it 1.6, but I prefer 1.3, maybe 1.5). I still play CS from time to time. Obviously silver league. But I am glad the game still exists and rocks.
I was about the same age and played betas through to CSS. Only played GO a handful of times but instead started watching it (football never worked for me but CS is fascinating).
I get less time now because two kids but it's amazing to see the growth in players, tournament size, prize money and wages and the skill and tactics over the years.
Hopefully CS2 keeps it all going and does justice to the name.
1.6 time was something...wow...incredible...love for that game for ever...
cs 1.6 will always be in my heart
chills man
The story was written in the best possible lines. I miss CS 1.6 and CSGO, thanks for everything.
Once upon a time in our lives we had this beauty of a game that wrote the biggest chapter of history that no one will forget
Goodbye and Thank You cute CS:GO 🥺 🕊️ ❤️
Love from Christchurch, New Zealand 🇳🇿 ❤️

Pure goosebumps, i will miss csgo.
Goosebumps, just goosebumps.
This game will always hold a space in my heart❤
Oh Dear Lord! CSGO will always be in my heart.
25 years ago, my friend from school said "do you want to come to the net cafe with me?" and it changed my whole life. Thank you for all the happiness ❤
Idk why but I am already feeling nostalgic even when i started csgo in 2019
Only one question to this amazing video: where the best map ever, cobblestone ?
bro...wanna make me cry ? ...insane video
There's now even possibility of our future kids playing CS2
this video brought so many feels. I will always love the csgo community. even if valve doesnt care, the community does, we do. we are counter strike :)
Nostalgia hits hard 😢
what a beautiful game man
Such a sick video, i miss csgo :/
Honestly, this gives me tears.
GREATEST GAME OF ALL TIME,THANK YOU VALVE FOR UNFORGETTABLE MEMORIES!
10K HOURS IN CS 1.6 AND 8K HOURS IN CSGO,A LOT OF FRIENDSHIPS WHICH I MADE IN GAME AND REAL LIFE BECAUSE OF THE GAME AND A LOT LAN TOURNAMENTS I VISITED BECAUSE OF THE GAME.ALWAYS IN MY HEARTH,THANKS AGAIN!
CSGO was Happiness, had best moments of my life i miss that game
Imagine Counter-Strike was just a game mode back then in half-life
Enough to make a grown man cry.
Nostalgic
Should be an apology letter "Sorry CSGO, we know you were a better game but we cant go back now because of pride. The community wont notice half a second extra peekers advantage when playing on average internet connection, right???"
- CS2
20 years more to come
thanks for the vidéo !
Thank you CS:GO
play cs since 2007 jeez 17 years 😢❤
congratz volvo
we miss the old cs
yea ever since skins were added up untill like 2019 csgo was great, after that i just didn't give a shit for some reason lol
played it every now and then but never got the same drive to play it for hours each day, maybe life just got in the way but i feel blessed to have witnessed the best esports moments during that time, nothing comes even close
I feel exactly the same, man. It's like after that time, the magic disappeared. CS:GO will always be my favourite game of all time. I don't think any other will capture people the same way.
I'm not crying you're crying. CSGO was my first fps love and will always have a place in esports history and in my heart. RIP CS:GO.
i remember when we would spam HLTV videos with:
❤ 1.6 but csgo sucks
And the dislike bar was always a sith lightsaber. Counter strike is such a good piece of culture.
3.000 hours well played. I loved you so much, CS:GO
Why am I crying...
RIP CS:GO, the best game
CS will never die. We will though, many times, clearly behind cover because of subtick ;)
