Fascism is alive and well throughout the Western world. The attack on artists is one of the signs that seem really obvious. It happened quickly in Germany under the Nazi's. and now we see the same but throughout the West. It is the canary in the cage in a mine. Why, you ask? Simples. Artists are often really clear thinkers from their 'observer, outsider' position, and through that angle can see a little further than the surface. Worse, like a signpost, can direct the viewer or participator to that wider perspective. From my angle I became an artist from that effect, where haunting museums of art, first fascinated by the skill of recreating reality, soon realised the stories they told were opening onto so much more prompting me even to self examination, particularly with my facility I was lucky to be born with. These are dangerous times indeed; we have developed so many tools to manipulate us, we have so little room to turn, from controlling every aspect of the narrative playing out under their directive. Art maybe critical in the end, particularly as it spans so much more now than pictures on walls. It can still be subversive. A last bastion of open questioning, inpenetrable to many but carrying a message to those that can look.

Samia Halaby, Wow ! Amazing work ... unique, powerful, and empowering to look at, I love all the layers of colour and structures, fascinating, the opportunity to stand or sit in person would be very intellectually and personally inspiring and a Joy. I hope you are invited to Tate Modern in London, UK. I'll ask if they have plans.
I'm concerned and sorry about the escalations, social and global fallout that includes the atrocities we are all witnessing or worst personally impacted by and experiencing, that our Governments, are not proactively challenging, or taking remedial responsibility, to Halt genocidal barbarity and atrocities.
Thank you for your world view, for your perspective, your voice and speaking out. We must have equitable, empowered and Free Peace 🕊️...

Palestinian artists and those who speak for Palestinian rights are being cancelled by the very countries that claim to uphold human rights and be progressive democracies.. No wonder there is a huge gap, as Samia said, between populations and their leaders. And that gap is widening. The disconnect has never been that big in living memory.

The power structure always watch our artist because they know through the arts many times revelations are communicated through artists. The artist's then produces a beautiful song, sculpture, painting or a profound book, play or movie script that wakes the people up. Many times throughout my life I have been "CANCELED" in the form of being fired from a job because I Love humanity and hate the ones that create inhumane realities for human beings. I'll leave you with a poem from my book: TRYIN TIMES from the Pyramids to the Projects
    TOWER OF BABEL
    Do we understand her?
The one that gave us brick for stone and slime for mortar...
If so, how did we get here?
Is it because we have that King James order or that King James version? Both are confusing to the many not in the know...
The Tower of Babel, America like the biblical city Babylon, who watches her people even when they sleep. The Tower of Babel, Genesis (11:1-9) have we figured out (9-11) yet? or will we allow another one?

This has nothing to do with the president. Biden is an ass whose brain atrophied in 1987, but he likely wouldn't have been as pointlessly craven as this museum.
Trump's so badly dysregulated emotionally that he would cancel this woman on a whim, or because she wasn't young and blonde. But neither he nor Biden have anything to do with it.
