I’m happy and excited for you to have your Taccia. The joy it brings you comes through every word. On your question about first gold nibs, mine was also a PGS purchased by my husband in 2020- he thought he would never recover from spending that much on a pen, but it was the Sakura Spring Rain, and I still adore it despite how my own collection has grown. I think only other pen collectors can truly appreciate the happiness that these bring us… My grail was a Pro Gear LE which I just purchased to celebrate the birth of my first granddaughter, and I am writing in a journal given to me by her parents, dedicated to the time I am spending with her - so it will be a forever special pen to me. Merry Christmas, Lori. ❤💚

To get the sleeve out of the 823 cap, you can put a rubber band around the eraser end of a #2 pencil and stick it inside. The friction of the rubber band will help pull it out. (the same can be done with a TWSBI).

Thank you for posting Lori! I enjoy your videos so much, you put a lot of thought & details into them that I love hearing! You have gotten me going on this fun ride now! I have 7 pens and love the idea of a special ink for each pen. Can you share sometime how you store your pens and ink? (maybe I missed that) Would love to see your setup. Happy New Year from Colorado! p.s. we have NO pen stores where I live so I love your links!

Your Taccia is gorgeous! What a beautiful pen to mark milestones. It’s one of the few larger pens that is feminine. I love cherry blossoms 🌸 🌸🌸🌸

Lori, I’m so glad I found your channel, I wanna say about 6 months ago. I don’t know what it is but your videos make me so happy. I can’t afford most of the pens you show but it’s always great to see these beauties. Keep up the excellent videos and hope 2025 brings a lot of peace and joy to you and your loved ones.

Happy New year! I loved your video on your grail pens. It is very interesting to see people's grail pen evolution as your tastes and preferences change. I have only been in this hobby for about a year and I've bought way more pens that I thought I would have and I've found some that I truly love. Unfortunately I haven't had the best experience with the sailors that I have purchased. The feedback is just too distracting to me. I'm thinking about getting some mesh to see if I can reduce the amount of feedback there is or take it to a nib miester next philly pen show. I love their color combos but the feedback is really a turnoff. The sailor that I like best is the cheapest one I have the Lecoule. It's such a smooth writer but it's small. Like you I like a bigger pen. Congrats on your amazing sale numbers and hitting that 35 lbs mark. I've enjoyed following your journey. Your new Taccia pen is a stunner and great way to celebrate your wins.

Isn't it funny how our definition of grail changes over time? I went really quickly from "I'd never spend THIRTY DOLLARS on a pen" to "omg, I need another Scribo".
Someday I'll build up atlas credit and others the same way you do but I'm a baby affiliate, so I'm biding my time. :)
    Happy new year, Lori!

(Hi from TC from the Juicy Broads Show) OMGoodness GUUURRRRLLL!!! JUST STUNNING! That Taccia is freakin' beautiful. Congratulations on that Grail pen... wowsers!
I love this hobby, and I too will be trying to calm down my purchases in 2025.
In 2024, I was able to get several of my grail wishlist pens. My 2024 fountain pen additions were a Visconti HS Bronze Age (surprise gift from my husband), a Pelikan M805 Stresemann Anthracite, the M605 Tortoise Shell/Black, a Sailor PG sized pen (Realo), my Bungubox pens (Flower Estie & Realo Cinderella's Slipper), my Lamy 2000, a couple of Franklin Christoph pens I have been wanting since 2016, along with a SchonDSGN I've wanted since 2016, Montblanc 146, and others... And I pre-ordered my first Leonardo, a Leonardo Momento Zero X Silto&Stile Kintsugi with Flex ExtraFine nib that will be here in January 2025...
It's so funny seeing everyone on YT with the Sailor PGS Harvest moon, it was my first gold nib too... Couldn't beat the price for it and it's still in my collection. I recently recommended it to a beginner in the FB FP Enthusiasts group. I moved away from Sailor's PGS when I acquired my Sailor Realo X Bungubox Cinderella's Slipper, it's a piston fill Sailor, and I can't see any other Sailor beating it any time soon... I was lucky to find it on Ebay for a great price and couldn't pass it up...
I thought I was the only one who had trouble with Pilot pens... I have the 823 (F) in transparent and it's taken a while to get the ink to work well in that pen and my Pilot Custom Heritage 92 (F/M). I have had to use Vanness' White Lightning Additive in the pens since this summer and only now are they acting correctly. I thought it was so strange that it would run out of ink (I tried so many inks in them both). I have the CH92 inked with Diamine Earl Grey and my 823 is inked with Wearingeul Zemyna - World Myth Ink - Zemyna without the shimmer... I screw the grip off the 823 and fill it with my syringe so I won't get any of the shimmer.
Once again, congratulations on the Taccia, and can't wait to see what you have in store for us in 2025... Sorry for the long post, I get so carried away with my pens; no one around me collects FPens!
Keep up the great content and Happy New Year!

My Pilot Custom 823 does that as well, it kind of likes stops flowing the ink or it dries up so I re-dip it in the ink bottle and the difference in how it wrote is huge!

Thanks for this video. Loved it. I love that you talk about the beauty of the pens. these are not pens I would buy for practical and budget reasons. But love to see them and learn about them and appreciate them visually and vicariously enjoy them. Thank you for the time you put in your videos. Hope to meet you in person some time at a show. to thank you in person. Wising you and your family a wonderful New Year and a fabulous 2025 for us all.

I don’t know a thing about fountain pens but that last one is something else. Gorgeous. My favorites are that Taccia and the Mont Blanc Glacier. I guess my grail pen would be a vanishing point. I need to click something and “put it away” 😊

Congrats on your Taccia🎉 I am a fan of the brand. And they have made my most beloved makie pen trio last year: the Shadow Picture pens. I was very lucky to be able to get all 3 of them and I love them all. I like more traditional makie pens as well but Taccia makes things very interresting with some of their designs..
I don't remember my first gold nibbed pen tbh. İt was too long ago, way too many grail pens ago I guess 😂
I love my MB and Pelikans but you definitely need to try a Sailor KOP. The writing experience is something else. And if you ever get the chance, try the Pilot Silvern nib and the Custom Urushi as well. 18k Pilot nibs are something else as well, also different then a VP as the nibs are very different. İn my opinion that's when you won't need any other Pilot pen. I don't agree that the 823 is the top one. I've had the amber for a long while and also got the clear one from Japan some years ago as well. They are very good writers, but I'm having an issue with the vac system in my clear one; it just won't suck up ink. Not the end of the world but it happens with many pens after a while. I also had Pelikans with similar trouble in their pistons. Just needs maintenance every now and then

Like all your videos but your comment about enjoying the pens you have really resonated with me.
I’m putting a halt on pen buying unless it’s a very limited run no greater than $300.
I have a couple of really nice pens but truthfully enjoy my inexpensive pens just as much.
My Shark Jinhao writes as well as my Pelikan Souveran so why spend the big bucks is my personal experience and conclusion.
I have really expensive taste. My grail pen is thousands but unless I win the lottery I’d rather have a nice trip and lifelong memories than a pen that lets face it is going to be replaced by yet another grail or the latest shiny cleverly marketed pen that hits the stores.
Not judging or jealous. Actually happy to experience the pens and ink’s vicariously through your very well planned and orchestrated videos.
    Happy shopping in 2025

i love the connection to sentimentality that so many of your pens hold, so wonderful! My grail pen, which I will get in 2025, is the Visconti HS Bronze Age. I have climbed Mt Etna, so I obviously need a Mt Etna lava pen. 2025 is also the 20th anni of the passing of my grandpa, who fought in the Italian Campaign (Canadian Army) during the Second World War. I want a special pen that will be in remembrance of my grandpa, his service, and our wonderful relationship

Unfortunately, 2 pens are missing here: The Pelikan M205 and the Pilot Custom 74. The Pelikan M205 is a wonderful pen with one of the best steel nibs ever. The Pilot Custom 74 with a soft nib is also a wonderful writing instrument.

I think the issue with the Pilot Custom 823 is common to Vac fillers. I have it on all my Vac filler pens. Which is why I stopped buying them. Also they are hard and tremendously time consuming to clean. By far cartridge and converter pens are my favorite. But think the issue is the Vac aspect. Even when the little closure is left open all the time, it still happens.

That Tacci is truly amazing and I can see how it would be so special and a grail pen! Just phenomenal!
I am fairly new in the fountain pen world. I feel like I am struggling where I am finding out what I like and what I am comfortable spending. But then I also get sucked into the allure of a less expensive pen and it’s like I want allll of them. I’ve done this in the past where I will be so excited in a new hobby that I will spend $$$$$$$ on many less expensive items but then get to a point where I have too much & I look back & think should I have been more disciplined in my spending & saved for quality over quantity. Right now there is a $75 pen I’m looking at. I think it will be very nice. However, there are two Auroras and a Nagasawa I want to get eventually. Should I save that $75 to put towards one of the others??? Or do I get the $75 pen anyway as I keep saving towards the others. Hmmmm. Do I get the $75 because I don’t have anything else like it in my collection??? Haha so many questions always zooming around my mind. I am trying to remind myself that I do not have to purchase every pen that I find beautiful & if I miss out there will always be more beautiful pens down the road!! Great video! Happy new year!

I vascilate between wanting to watch your videos and wanting to stay away because the constant consumption gives me anxiety, but then I am curious to see what you've bought. I hope you don't take it the wrong way. I realize you are using credits to buy your pens, line I said I mean no disrespect and I enjoy seeing what beauties you are doing reviews on!
