Please how much do you earn as an IMG working as a medical assistant ? How does your work schedule looks like? What were the challenges you encountered in this job for the first weeks? Do you have responsibility over all the 45 clients the clinic recieve per day or they are other medical assistants working with you? Did you go through an orientation to learn how to do EKG, aorta scan, blood collection before starting? Are medical assistant jobs readily available (you said you were introuduced by a Friend to the cardiologist)? What could be the career pathway/growth for an IMG Who has decided not to do USMLE or go through residency in the USA?
Thank you for sharing this. Can you please tell me how you manage studying with full time work. I am trying to do the same but it has proven very difficult
No you don’t have to be ECFMG certified. If you are an IMG you can get a physician to work with as a medical assistant. After working or ( volunteering as medical assistant for 3 months with a minimum of 160 working hours in total) you can apply for Medical assistance certificate from the Americans registry of Medical assistance.
@@PriGinaMedical3848 Hi doctor, thanks for the video! Quick question though, does the volunteer work have to be in the US or does volunteering in other countries also count?
Physician assistant is different from medical assistant. You need to be eligible to work in USA. So you need a visa that permit you to legally work in USA
Hi doctor how are you sir ,hope you're well ....my question is if I'm an international medical graduate and have legal status in the US (green card holder) can I find a job as a medical assistant or patient care assistant without certificates in those jobs or a USMLE ....thanx in advance

Hi Kv, sure we will do that. But basically if you don’t have work visa or you can’t legally work in USA, you can get it with any other visa but as a volunteer and depending on the Physician you work with you can get stipend every 2 weeks. We will explain it more in the video.
@@PriGinaMedical3848 Hi dr Regina, in your case, did you already have a work visa/ able to legally work in the USA, or did you get Visa Sponsorship from the Workplace? Lastly, if you got a visa sponsorship, do you have a video link to explain what to do to get such a job. thank you x
