      Actually, amusingly enough, there totally was another figure of him at the time this aired. The one they showed with the blazer and the microphone was from 1996-97, before he did the whole Mr. McMahon character when he was still announcing and doing promo interviews. If I'm not mistaken there was a Royal Rumble wrestling ring playset that came with an all new Mr. McMahon figure in wrestling attire with an 'angry' face.

      Ted didn't even have anything to do with WCW. Bischoff only met with him once, for example. Vince knew this, but he wouldn't be able to play underdog if he went after Bischoff. So, he lied and said Ted Turner was the enemy.

    Enjoyable interview, no longer a WWE fan, not since I was a kid (Luckily grew up in the attitude era) but, I really dislike the lack of respect anyone WWE/WWF gets when they’re on these kinds of shows....I feel like there’s always this very subtle dig at them suggesting that wrestling is fake and as though it’s a big secret! Everybody knows it’s fake, but so is broadway, so are movies yet people in those fields are always interviewed with such respect! Despite the fact that the men and women of WWE literally put their bodies on the line (usually end up with severe retirement inducing injuries) for 300+ days of the year....When I enjoyed wrestling, it was amazing! I think I always suspected it was fake, even as a kid, but the drama and tension and action that those guys presented week in week out was sublime and a BIG part of my childhood! I just hate the fact that despite all their efforts and suffering, the WWE superstars never seem to get the respect they absolutely deserve!

      MarkoAnzio I was thinking the same thing tbh. Exactly a month after too. It was particularly eerie when Conan brought up a lawsuit and Vince was like "yay, another lawsuit is just what I need". An interview like that wouldn't fly today as Vince would be grilled beyond recognition about his reckless decision that night. RIP Owen

    Amusingly enough, there totally was another figure of him at the time this aired.

    If the WWE would produce a new prime time TV MA pro wrestling show with the unscripted edge of RAW is WAR in 1996-1999 on the network it would get record high ratings. There is a massive fan base of this format. Please give fans what they want. Just try it!

    • @Kingmonn
      @Kingmonn 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I agree with that. Similar to the 80s Prime Time show on USA Network with Heenan and Gorilla Monsoon, but this time maybe have two announcers/host with the same chemistry that The Brain and Monsoon had. Hmm maybe Corey Graves and Saxton, or Michael Cole & Graves, .... Or bring back a legend announcer and have Tazz and Jim Ross, or Jerry Lawler and Booker T etc...the possibilities are endless .

    • @BillyBadAssENT

      I’m a network subscriber and they asked a few months ago in a survey what type of programming would we like to see on the network, a TV-MA program was a suggestion in said survey and I chose it, hopefully we get that in 2019

    • @MRATOMIC-yz2cx
      @MRATOMIC-yz2cx 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      BillyBadAssENT that would be a very good business for the streaming network. What would make it best would be a strong rival and record viewers. If it’s solid word will travel fast. Time will tell.

      Yeah because when TNA did that it worked soooo well.
      It's a niche market and a niche fan base that can't successfully support the product alone anymore. And the content from that type of promotion drives away potential advertisers and business partners. Crap idea.
