  • If you have listened to my podcast, you already know how this one turns out. If you haven’t listened to the podcast, may I ask why? At any rate, this is the beginning of the day at 5 miles of hell trail here in Utah. That is just what they call this. I’m sure that for some this trail really is hell, but the parts of the trail that I saw were just pretty fun. Yeah, there are some intimidating obstacles, but not what I’d call hell. I guess it’s all about your experience and frame of mind.

Five miles of hell looks like heaven to a guy that wished he could ride again but can't because of prostate surgery.
I live my life vicariously through you guys, have fun!

That trail just proves how tough KTM’s are! We took a guy with a brand new KX 450 on this trail a couple years ago and when we got back that bike was completely trashed!

Honestly for this type of very rocky riding a trials bike is so much more suitable and with simple universal type tyres not knobbies..Its geared much lower plus its lighter..My dinosaur 1976 TY250 Yamaha still shreds this type of terrain..and it's now 44 years old.

Kyle and crew can ride, making it look easy. A small group of us came down from Alberta last March to ride the Green River area. On our last day of riding, day 7 of our trip before heading home, we hit 5MOH. Made a group decision to bail on the last early exit. I can still hear the grating sound of metal scraping rock the dozen or so times me and my bike went down. Thankfully the only casualty that day, apart from our egos and a bunch of fresh blemishes to our already scratched plastics, was one broken footpeg. We'll finish it this year, and be a bit smarter as well by doing it earlier in the week, start earlier in the day, and eat properly beforehand. Looking forward to watching the rest the Kyle's footage.

Thank you for making this video. It's the first time I have seen things from a drones point of view. Your cam sure
show's the punch of the cool color's there. I have been on the other colored trails except the red and 5 MOH.
Depending of recovery from a tumor removal last month I might give both a shot if I can get Boyd and crew to
try it this April. We will hit the others for sure.
    The Swell is swell......

Air Flaps are great. I leave them open 90% of the time. Only close them in heavy dust. Did get a bug one time which was making crazy till I remove it.

Ridden that a few times - smart not to go alone. I did the same thing at 5:47. Was the 500 piston still there at the trailhead? :)

I've pretty much had the run of SE Utah since 1987. All thru Salt Creek into Angel Arch, to the confluence, over Elephant Hill legally and not. In 1992 I put my 6 yr old son on my 1986 Moto Morini 501 Camel and went from Mexican Hat, over Elephant Hill, wow, and back to Montecello and then Hat. In 1994 he rode my 1986 Honda Reflex trials bike into the Needles, etc. I rode my 1986 500 Cagiva. I stopped telling people about Utah over 30 yrs ago. Crowds in my sand box 🤔

I rode my Reflex on the Bike trail this past summer! Was really fun. I'm not ready for 5MOH!

    • @happyraccoon4791

@@P4ddyC4ke they are so Uncomfortable! I had to stand up mostly. Fit my 8 year old son nicely. In 1993 I was in Santa Cruz mtns riding in Forest. Stopped. Heard a rustle....25 ft away was a guy trimming his pot. The bike was so quiet that his scissors and such masked the bike noise. 🤔😸. I quietly pushed the bike a few feet, started it and drove silently away. I sold it 8 years ago.

    • @P4ddyC4ke
      @P4ddyC4ke 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@happyraccoon4791 Yeah it's not too comfortable. I stand the whole time riding it. I got it to teach my wife (5 ft. tall) to ride and to practice some basic trials skills. My back is usually killing me after riding it. I've got some of the videos from that trip on my YT. The microphone wasn't working, but as you mentioned, the bike is SO quiet you wouldn't hear it anyway. LOL!

Such a NICE trail. I've gone there on a KTM 525, 530 and a 500, not bad with all the usable torque. I sure wish I rode 5MOH when I had a KTM 200, so many of the bikes you ride fit this trail so well, from the 200 and 300 Beta's and the KTM 2 stroke line up. I have a KTM 350xc now, I'd guess it would take me more work than a 500, and would be harder than riding the smoking hot 2 strokes!!
Thanks for the footage!! Would love to see more!!!
Night riding there sure is a different experience as well, it was still hot the night we rode :(
I sure would like to see a Sur ron ebike footage on that trail, lol.
