    never thought I’d see this song live… this is so surreal!

    This shows you how far ahead of the times The Beatles were in 1966. This song is a stretch to play live in 2021. Well done. Not easy. Thank you for reminding us how mind blowingly advanced the Beatles were.

      The studio recording used cut up tape randomly stuck together and looped. George Martin had a big role to play in translating the Beatles' ideas.

      I thought he looked more like a chubby Mickey Dolenz. Which he did play the drums as a Monkee. But yeah, I guess the drummer does have that Elton John look as well.

    There should be a drinking game where you take a shot each time there’s a new Lennon of the group. Holy shit he’s changed more times than Ringo and George combined.

    Ringo played that quick double tom beat with his left hand, never ceasing to hit the ride cymbal. It makes a world of difference to my ears. But I still love this awesome drummer for celebrating Ringo's exquisite musicianship. ☺️❤️

    The Beatles could never have done this in a '66 concert

    • @nickthomas181
      @nickthomas181 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      A great modern spin on it though the Beatles weren't interested in playing live by 66 there last tour was embarrassing in its short sightedness. As Mick Jagger said modern touring didn't begin till after The Beatles stopped playing live.

    • @timrobinson7373
      @timrobinson7373 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@nickthomas181 Very true I found one story very interesting and it came from Vin Scully who told a story about the next to last concert in '66 for the Beatles at Dodger Stadium if you find it in a nutshell it tells how crazy that last tour really was for them

    Who played Ringo in this show?

  • @Kelly14UK
    @Kelly14UK 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Why is this the only avante garde psychedelic track The Bestles did? I KNOW they had a hundred colourful moments after this, we can add Strawberry Fields and Northern Song ( i love it, don't care about criticisms ), Blue Jay Way and a ton of strange stuff, Long Long Long, Revolution 9, but they went nuts here. Sgt Pepper's closest would be Lucy In The Sky and Within You Without You.
    This song was just mental.

  • @lewiscarr7952

    I mean, they may as well not make that much effort to look like the Beatles. But I have to say they did a decent job of trying to create the track live!
