- I had to HARDTAIL this Squier Contemporary Stratocaster Tremolo bridge.
In this essential guitar maintenance video I show you how to hardtail a Squier or Fender Stratocaster Tremolo Bridge, there are other ways to do this but this is the way I find works well for me.

I cut a wedge shaped piece of wood and jammed it tight behind the trem block on mine and screwed the plate down tight on the front, the natural sustain has improved massively, i never liked trems anyway. BTW, i left the springs in so it was still earthed.
Another model I've not seen before, love the angled pickups looks a lovely guitar!
She's a real beaut, now it's setup right plays and sounds amazing 👌💯🤘🎸
Yeah Robbie Robertson had his strats special made with his 2 single coils at the bridge wired up like a humbucker just like in the guitar Rob is playing and setting up through the video !

I haven't played the modern versions but I did have an early 80s one many moons ago. Very cool guitars indeed 👌

I have the pearl white hard tail version. I put Gotoh tuners on it with white pearl tips, a Gotoh bridge and put a Duncan p-rail pup with a mini toggle switch. Love this guitar!

@@theguitarmanifestoyeah the neck is solid and fast. The roasted maple was a nice touch. Btw the color of yours is different than the ones I've seen with the tremolo. I've only seen the black and sky blue metallic. Where did you get yours?

Meat, so happy to see you getting more awesome guitars. I LOVE Squiers. I just got a 2024 Squier Sonic Strat with black body, pick guard and pickups. Reminds me of David Gilmour. The thing plays better than the Fender standard, Player Strat and Squier Classic Vibe. Zero sharp frets, no dead frets and just plays so smoothly. I prefer a non lacquered neck.

The shite workshop amp don't help matters 🤣 they have almost a P90 style sound to them. Better is the word 😁
That will be the line 6 spider and I'm sure Rob will agree. Id bet them pickups will sound very decent through a better amp
