    I am so in love with my new discovery. Previously had no real interest in growing.
    Bought an aloe plant from my neighbor after his wife passed bcuz he wasn't taking care of it. I researched how to care for it, got the cactus mix soil & now it's so gorgeous and healthy and tall. She's had 4 babies alreardy. I call them babies & I love em😊.
    Anyway, now that I've discovered terrariums, I'm hooked. I will be doing this. It's so dope.

    I love the video. As a gardener I have one suggestion. Plants always look better when planted in odd numbers. 1, 3 or 5 plants would have looked better.

      Thanks for the suggestion! I will keep it in mind next time around.

      Great tip! I've heard it before, the human brain sees things without a pattern as more "raw" and nature like while even numbers and patterns are seen as logical, structured and more human. Also, in nature almost nothing has straight lines or really sharp 90degree-like corners. we see straight lines as "unnatural". That's why tankers put brushes on their tanks, not to just turn it into a giant roaring bush, but mainly to break up the sharp lines which will get noticed by an human eye if not covered up... :)

      Then You Would Also Need An Odd Number Of Terrariums Or You Would Have An Even Number Of Plants... So This Terrarium With The Four Cacti Would Look Good Next To One Other Terrarium With Three Cacti. For A Total Of 7 Cacti.... Hmmmmm... Its Like My Neighbor Planted Five Trees At Our Property Line... It Messes Up Everything... Makes It Too Complicated, I Think You Should Just Do What You Want.... That Being Said... Ha Ha... We Did Learn The Odd Number Rule In Every Art Class I Took.

    I could seriously listen to your voice all day. Screen idea is excellent for maintaining layers. With these glass terrariums, you can keep an eye on moisture in the bottom and mist like you are with a spray bottle lightly 2 days in a row rather than water so much it goes to the bottom. Wonderful video!

    Thank you so much for this tutorial! I made an amazing cactus terrarium today and these tips were really helpfully and gave me a look to work around other mine. great vid!! I have a suggestion for cacti/succulent terrariums. I actually keep the plants in the plastic container (or a slightly larger one) and then just put gravel-type material below and all around it. Thank way any water that comes out the bottom of the plastic pots goes into the gravel and evaporates more easily instead of just staying stuck in a false bottom the way it can with a if theres a thick layer entirely of soil. and of course I put the topdressing high enough to cover the tops of the plastic pots!

    • @ivyisgreeen
      @ivyisgreeen ปีที่แล้ว

      The point of a false bottom is to evaporate it slowly so that there is less maintenance, also that can lead to root rot

    I did one exactly like this only with smaller cactus with three and a few cactus that look like balls. They grow together and actually moved closer to each other. I also used charcoal with the false bottom. I've made another one in a square dish with three cactus. The like the little lamps I turn on 8-10 hours daily. I need to make more. So relaxing🤗 subscribed

  • @Neuyasha1

    I want to add, to anyone who may watch this. Do not just spray water on your cacti. A lot of them can rot if they get water on their leaves. I recommend gently pouring water on the surface, trying not to spash water on the cacti. However, if this were an outdoor setup do as you please. In closing I really love this design and thinking about doing someing similar with my cacti and succulants. :)

    As an avid designer I have a couple of suggestions that I’ve learned planning rooms and such that could definitely be helpful for your terrariums as well. My mom always talks about how things generally look better in groups of 3 or 5. From what I gather this is because 2 and 4 often look to organized/ planned out. As well as doing this, it will also make them look less crowded. The appeal aesthetically of cacti is how simple they are. By over crowding your terrariums, you can lose some of this.
