Which was the one where the producer told them that Opie was sitting on a throne, and they needed to add more sound effects, so they moved the broadcast to the bathroom?
I love how nobody ever called Opie out
@Kennedy Williams Yeah they were
Marge the animal shelter lady bit stinks.
Damn, ive never heard this before. John walked all over Opie and shut down their bullshit so good. Man must have been an amazing PD
Wow, This is an great example of O and A dealing with "Cancel Culture" from way back.
john mainelli basically told them they were being lazy & mailing it in... well, as much as i am an OnA fan, please remember how this era ended: they were systematically removed from syndicated markets and eventually told their services were no longer needed
That picture says it all. Look at Opie, oddly waaaaay in the background. And in the end the guy was 100% right about everything, and they knew it. That's why they didn't absolutely trash him. He actually shut Opie up and had Ant agree with him, for the most part.
"There's a reason why were still here". Didn't they get fired shortly there after. I love them, but they never take responsibility for anything that happens to them ever. If they had shitty ratings, that has to be there fault somewhat.
T D they remained on satellite but were fired from all the radio gigs
Larry Cera yeah that’s what I’m talking about on Terrestrial radio. I know they were on satellite long after that.
I love O and A but I was thinking the same exact thing.. Whether John was a douche or not, apparently he wasn't too far off because they did lose all their radio stations not too too long after. It's kinda sad listening to this tbh.
Does anyone know what year this was? I’m now listening to this again here in 2021....And I’m curious when this was.....thanks gang!
51:40 I’m embarrassed to ask this question but what is this song name? It has a an amazing guitar riff
Are you gonna go my way. Lenny Kravitz.
I thought you meant thunder kiss 65', which follows it in the next segment.
Paul Wood Hey thanks!
No problem sir. Nice to see someone else besides me watches these old O and A clips....lol
Perfectly backing Jim’s position he describes as staying out of it. He does get angry with XM and mgmt sometimes but picks his battles
Sounds like John was right in the end
john was right
Opie has such a quick witt
Hoo-hoo, tell 'em Fred!
Do you think they say "fuck you" during contract negotiations?
I want a book on Opie early years.Tons of people to interview.
They weren't on KROCK for the challenge, it's cause there was a bigger audience and they got a lot of money doing it, even if that meant taking the hit by not talking as openly.
Say what you will about Opie but the fact that Tom wouldn’t leave the room to go call the lawyer and then all the sudden Opie is on the phone with John to basically do Tom’s job for him, that shit was funny
28:44 might be Anthony's biggest jellyfish moment of all time. A huge part of satellite's marketing was the lack of FCC restrictions and truly 'uncensored' radio, now here he is blaming the FCC and 'corporate interests' for the show's mediocrity/tameness. Meanwhile Patrice or Louis could walk in a day later and make racial humour til the cows came home.
Obviously he'd take a hard right (wing) turn in the years after this clip but the hypocrisy/gang mentality on display is pathetic. Also Opie sucks
King of all media?? Wow you are delusional. He does a MAXIMUM of 12 radio shows a month. AGT ratings plummeted last season. He was in 1 movie that made a whopping 40 million bucks and hasn't been in a movie since. Oh and he barely knows how to use the Internet. Face it your hero is irrevelent.
Grown men saying “F you” to each other. “Holy S” You’re a broadcaster, expand your vocabulary. Opie was always the worst (in general) at playing around censored radio.
Have nothin betterdo than list to us inda minnlenight! -opie
Opie hates people who blame their failures on others....
Sounds like constructive criticism too...maybe he had some points
Ant and Jim are just trying to cover up for this complete GREGGSHELLS bit, because if they didn't, it would be completely uncomfortable.
I am sick of Opie mentioning "his people" and his "inner circle" like he's Saddam Hussein. He has no friends, he hangs around with freaks who listen to his podcast, nobody decent can stand him.
Opie is such a choad
wow these guys are so original fighting with there general manger named tom i swear I never heard some one do this before.
Chris Santos they work in the same company as Howard, and of course there will be friction with tom, he is the general manager of both shows.
No, Mohmar, Giasano and Minelli are 2 different Toms
@@crazytrain7114 minelli's name isn't Tom, it's John. They are the same Tom, it was the manager they were yelling at in the beginning of this video.
Gregg was rarely funny, but he really handled all the extra bullshit that Anthony and Jimmy never had to deal with. Opie handled himself by having a hard forehead toward the wimpy critics of the show.
