What a fun experience! Looks like you've got your money's worth! Basically you spent 500 bucks to buy two Hanwei swords, which are established models (that New Way Dao isn't as nice as the LK Chen one, but still rather nice), and then as a bonus KoA gave you a tons of junk just for the lolz. Some of the this stuff, especially the two unnamed franken "swords" near the end, are "sooooooo bad that they become good". They are so poorly made that they somehow become one of a kind curiosity items as conversation starters. Considering you essentially got them for free (paid for their shipping weight and space only), it's a pretty good deal.
I'd say each box had 1 good item (the Hanweis), 1 decent item (the two Windlass), a few iffy things (Devil's Edge) and a bunch of random stuff, some of which is pure junk, some not terrible. All in all it was certainly worth the asking price!
It would be nice if I get the Albion sword I ordered nearly two years ago from KOA. KOA gets an F for communication. THEY ARE QUICK TO SHIP OUT MASS PRODUCED STUFF AND QUICK TO TAKE DEPOSITS FOR CUSTOMS. I hope they deliver or i will go to small claims I guess.
I've always kind of wanted to buy a mystery box from KOA or another reputable company I'm always worried that if I do that I'm going to get nothing but decorative wall hangers and lemons LOL
I have that same xeyphos, my blade has a very small twist in it, but it's not really even noticeable. My biggest gripe is the cheesy leather sheath. When I first started looking at this it had a wooden scabbard, but came with this crappy leather thing.
Chopper .. slathered in grease, covered in plastic .. yep that Windlass style lol It's funny as the first run they did of them in the late 90s early 2000s had brass fittings & rounded edges on the grips. But the newer run has copper fittings & VERY squared grips. No clue why they left them uncomfortably square but they did
Those two single-edged swords with brass furniture and chonky handles were/are listed on KOA as 'Turkish Fantasy Sword'. They are Deepeeka and were on clearance for 25 dollars each.
I have one of them I bought for $25 it is HORRIBLE! Heavier than a crowbar thick chunky grip too short for 2 hands I thought I could do something with the blade, which is why I bought it, but no
I'm new to sword collecting and always try to grab one of these boxes. But I don't think I will now lol. Most of them are defects if I'm seeing correctly
These mystery crates are a great way to get a collection started, as long as you don't mind getting some projects, some questionable quality stuff, and one or two good pieces.
I got item 4 and also item 16 in mine. I also got the maciejowski falchion. The katana I got seems to be decent quality but they didn’t add any information to find out what they all were
Yeah, figuring out what the items are usually involves keying in on a few identifying marks and browsing through hundreds of listings on KoA's site. It's part of the fun, imo!
Those two chonkers would make your wrists donkers. You would go through the rest of your life needing clothespin chopsticks to eat your chop suey. Imagine what they might do to your wrists if you dual-wielded them and they struck something solid. Carpal-tunnel time fo' sho'.

I believe one of the "frankenswords" (the one with the Viking pommel) is supposed to be an interpretation of the Korsoygaden sword.
Interesting. You're the first person I've heard of that received a scabbard with that sword. As far as I'm aware, nobody has been able to identify it.

Yeah, I did finally identify that tomahawk as the Cold Steel Pipe Hawk.
