so there are 2 types of infranyman.
1 is the busting doors etc
2. The one who shoot from a long distance
The main effort in the infantry will always be the the maneuver element in a rifle company, every other infantryman is there to support them. Wether it be the mortarmen, anti armor crews, sniper sections, weapons squads.

Crazy you say that I didn’t join for a long time because I was sitting around the hood making babies not wanting that life for myself anymore I got a clean record and plan on going in and that’s been my mindset is to know I’m coming home and ima leave here one day anyway
You probably won’t get any combat deployments unless you join the special forces

@@GODOFLIQUORthat’s cool just means that we can keep our fellow brothers in arms around much longer. Developing bonds with each other means more than the war or thrill of combat. Nobody wants to see anyone wearing that uniform die young in it. But when it’s time to step up it’s going to get handled bet that. Till then let’s relish and celebrate the peace. 23 years in Afghanistan was enough. I’m planning to go 11B myself for my first 2-3 year contract. Then when I reenlist will move to a 15R or 15T as I’m nearly 32 so I’m not as young as the others I’ll be serving with.
I want to join the infantry so bad. I go to Utah Military Academy and I’ve dreamed about joining the infantry for so long.

Is there a way you can select 11C and it be guaranteed they give you that mos or do they pick it for you
You’ll start as an 11x and they randomly will select you good luck! I’m 11B my battle buddies are the best you’ll make great memories some days are hard but you just gotta keep going don’t give up 👊🏼

I absolutely loved EVERYTHING about NTC in Fort Irwin, California... Except the weather. The scenery and views we got from arriving there and leaving to get to the airport back to our home duty station on the East Coast was what made me fall in love with California's landscape.
I didn't mind ntc.. i dont mind heat.. i was more miserable in YTC Washington.. it was 10 degrees, sleeping outside freezing 🥶

I'm so sad, I'm trying to enlist in the army and my green card got renewed, and they said I can't go now, but other sergeants say I can have everything ready to go, they never have a right answer to my problem.
your overall answer is fix your green card situation then try to join makes it easier for them to do the paperwork

So in basic if you go in as 11bravo you could just get randomly selected to be a mortar man?
No, if you're an 11 Xray you can be randomly selected for either 11 Bravo, or 11 Charlie while at your holding unit before basic training. If you're joining with an 11 Bravo contract, you will be guaranteed to be one once you pass. Same goes with 11 Charlie.

Frontline Army... be 11B or 11C or 11M......Infantry all the way! 11B Airborne here, for me thats the way to go. If you go, you go all in. .Nuff said.

I understand that a lot want to comment about joining the Army the Marines the Air Force the Navy and so forth and even the Coast Guard. Do not whatever you do bash the United States of America if you do not serve and if you make a comment make sure that you put in your MOS your time of service where you've been what t-shirts you have and what you did the United States military supposed to be based upon protecting the country and its people and upholding and defending into fighting necessary for the Constitution of the United States of america. And these days that are here now and look at the date stamp on when I make this post these poor young Lads are being pulled in I agree on a false pretenses but I serve through 33 years ago I lived up to my contract and I still believed to this day what I can do to protect my country and his people against all enemies foreign a domestic. I do highly recommend that if you're thinking about joining the armed forces in this day and this time think about it not once not twice but 2,000 times before you sign that contract it is not the same as 33 years ago when I joined. But do not bash my brothers my sisters who have served with me in battle. You can still be a patriot you can still fight for freedom you can still be an American a true American. Respect those who have died and who have served to give you the right to come on here and say negative things. The following are my credentials.
11B, 11H, E9, 77F, 31k ; 8 years of service; and still and always will fight for my Country, my people and what it stands for.

I meet my sergent and the boss they came to my house and did everything i would like to do military police and patrol the streets on my town but the soldier who gave me ride back home from taking the test he told me im gonna hear from them in 30 days but in case they would not i got an offer to work for the city from customer who comes to our place to eat.
