Wow, I have been knitting with that pattern for scarves since 2006. If you make a Dr. Who scarf you will use that pattern method throughout that very lengthy scarf. I did a green and white one about 12 yrs ago representing a school's colors. I love the blue you are using. Using a real contrasting yarn for your waste yarn will help eliminate missing a stitch when casting off--using a black, dark blue, brown, red, dark green, etc will give you the contrast needed to see all of your white stitches in the future.
I’ve made a Doctor Who scarf before. I found a pattern on Pinterest and just modified it. It was maybe 8 or 9ft long LOL. Yea I should’ve used a different color for the waste yarn for this, I didn’t realize until later 😂😂😂
I love knitting and you are the best knitter I ever seen all of my things they all have holes but I did my first one without any holes today but a beanie
Sorry, but scrap yarn is not in my vocabulary because it's too much work, but you are a good teacher who explains and shows your knitting teaching very well.
I really enjoyed your video and you explained the process so well. I am curious about the stitch you adjusted at the beginning. I couldn't really see what slipped. Also can you use your waste yarn again? One last question, how many cakes did you end up using for that length. My daughter and her family recently moved to Alaska, so 3 small grandsons will need more than 1 scarf lol.
you can use waste yarn again, I have a little bit of scrap yarn saved for this purpose. You can also make a scarf with a pom pom instead of the flat edge method. The cakes I use typically equals to one full skein of Big Twist Value yarn but it also depends on how often you switch colors and it depends on how long you want your scarf.
Neither my Addi nor my Sentro likes RHSS yarn or most 4 weight yarn. I bought so much yarn in the States and now I am busy hand knitting and crocheting baby blankets for children in Romania reducingbmy stash. 3 weight no problem.
Heyy it’s my first time making a scarf and I’m planning to gift it, so gotta do a good job there. How long is the yarn you’re using? Or generally what length would you recommend me to buy? How many rows would a 120 m long yarn make?
So I typically use Big Twist or Red Heart Super Saver. I honestly don’t read the labels of how much the length is per skein. I always say grab more then what you need
@@JenneticCraftsMerci bien mais si tu pouvais me donner le nombre de rang pour les différents changements de couleurs pour rendre mon travail autant joli que le tien. Merci en attendant la réponse sur le bleu mélangé au blanc.
I have a question I tried using a certain type of yarn I ended up having to make sure every time the yarn wouldn’t end up in the back it became too much work is it because the yarn wasn’t soft enough
New subscriber here, this is the first time I've ever seen a video about knitting with or without a machine. I ve seen a scarf and really wanted to make one in my football teams colours... Eventually I ended up here. A quick research has indicated that these machines come in certain numbers such as 30 40 48....etc This means that more stitches the wider the scarf right? I heard the one you're using here is a 48 needles yes? Could you please give an estimate of how wide is the 30 the 40 and the 48? I m trying to understand how wide is the scarf you made here cause it really fits my requirements. It looks like 20~25cm or about 10inches. Could you please tell me the 30 40 needle machine what width they knit at? And a final question.... Do you know if these machines or better yet the one you're using here can knit a tighter knit? More tight closer compact threading knitting in a way? Do they have some sort of special setting where you can adjust things and come up with a tighter result? Thank you in advance and please forgive me, I m a man and this subject is completely unfamiliar to me. Also English is not my mother tongue so I hope you make sense of what I am asking. I greets from Greece. Amazing video and great result. You are explaining everything so nicely.
Hi!! I only make my scarves using a 48 pin machine. The more rows you do the longer the scarf. I typically make mine about 7ft long. In terms of width, it is 6.5 inches. If you are using the 48 pin machine, there are tension settings with three holes, i put my yarn in the middle one. If you want a looser fit, go with the last one. I hope i answered all of your questions and thank you for watching
This is the best tutorial by far. You explained every detail so perfectly and made it look very easy. Thank you so so much for this tutorial. : 😄😄😄😄😄😄
You’re so sweet 🥹 thank you for watching! ❤️

Thank you for watching! Scrap yarn is just a different color yarn that you will not use for the final project.

Ahh i’m so sorry to hear! It’s always trial and error with this machine.
Hi love the video, do you make 2 panels and connect them to make it wide?
No i have it on tube setting every time. I’ve never used panel setting
Pulling out the scrap yarn gave me ANXIETY😮😢
It gives me anxiety sometimes as well 😅
what weight is your yarn you are using? i have 4 medium weigh in my 48 needle sentro.
I’m using weight 4 yarn 🙂

Hello. Can I also do this steps on a 40 pin Sentro Knitting Machine?
You can if you want to, the scarf will be thinner then the 48 pin machine’s scarf.
Thank you 🩷
I believe It’s a loom pick
Thank you!
Hi thank you for this video! What is the reason for the scarp yarn please? Why do you need to do it?
Hi! I only use it to make the ends flat, if you do not want to, you can synch it closed and add a pom pom on the ends
how long it took to make one full scarf in the video?
Without recording a video it usually takes 1 or 2 hours
I have a question I tried using a certain type of yarn I ended up having to make sure every time the yarn wouldn’t end up in the back it became too much work is it because the yarn wasn’t soft enough
Some yarn is very tricky in the machine unfortunately, if a certain yarn works better for you, I recommend using it. It’s trial and error lol
Are you using the tubular setting?
Yes I am
What brand yarn are you using or would you recommend for this machine?
Any weight 4 or 3 yarn. I use loops and threads, red heart super saver and big twist
What setting p or t
Tube setting
What setting for a scarf p or t
Tube setting
How many rows total are you doing?
I typically do between 320-360 🙂
Can you post the pattern in the comments I’m doing a scarf this week and I love this one. I have a Sentro 48 knitting machine
Hi! I typically do 300-320 rows for my scarves. For this one I switched every 20 rows to white or navy
