I believe normally a 19 year old, especially in an unfamiliar area, would opt for a possibility of hitching a ride. Stumbling around in the dark in a rock and cactus filled area seems illogical even for a drunk/drugged kid. Today's teens most often pick the avenue of least resistance. He was from England where the countryside is softer and more forgiving. I think to him in any state that stark and forbidding Spanish countryside would be less than inviting. I think it would be repellent to him. I know the first time I saw a landscape like that I did not feel any desire to casually walk through it. The land in that part of Tenerife is some of the worst I have ever seen.

The Blanket Mystery: Everyone is assuming that the blanket was taken to the BnB after Jay arrived, but there is another way it could have got there. What if Jay went from the nightclub back to his or Lucy's apartment BEFORE going off with Ayub and his friend? Maybe he left the nightclub with Lucy and or Brad? On the original GoFundMe page that was set up by Lucy, she made a big deal out of the fact that she left the nightclub early and alone because she was tired. Looking for her friend was not at the top of the page which is odd. Was she story telling to get her story straight? We don't know what possessions Jay had on him; he could have gone back to get something and he could have picked up the blanket then. Did Ayub and his friend turn up at the apartment and force him to leave with them? Did Jay leave the nightclub with Ayub and they stopped off at Jay's or Lucy's apartment on route. That detective guy said that Jay had done something before he left. Left where? When the neighbour knocked on the BnB door asking for the car to be moved, did Jay see that as a good time to make his escape because Ayub would be unlikely to follow him with a witness standing there. Also the other thing that puzzles me is that the mainstream media never mention Brandon "Hodgey". They always say Jay's two friends, but he had three friends there ?????

Heard that the locals and coastguard knew his body had been found at the weekend. Down the rapids filmed Masca one night at the weekend. Said it’s normally really quiet but dogs barking and goats woke him up. Something was going on over the weekend

Looking at the Autopsy's first comment: Jay possibly fell from a height resulting in Polytrauma injuries. Well if you have any idea of what Polytrauma as a medical term means means to the fraternity- & in order of the most occurance : the Data -is injuries to multiple body parts & organ systems, as a result of 1. blast, improvised explosive device, military rocket grenade, burns & related events-typically traumatic brain, spinal cord, injury traumatic amputations , injury by blunt instrument & internal organs (this applies to 2 or more individual parts ,separately). 2. Motor or vehicle mechanisms at great speed with sufficient force to cause Polytrauma.. 3. Dropped suddenly from a great height by blast of sufficient force.
4. Blunt & deliberate injuries if associated with great force whilst being restricted. 5. Fall from a great height onto rock surfaces perceived to adhere to 2 or more parts within major long bones/organs. 6. Penetrating injuries ie: gunshot/stab wounds to common etiologies. 7. All the above ind sections plus possible genital slow radiation-torture. Injury Severity Score measure on Poly Trauma is (155).2022.
The other observation immediately jumped out- is the fingerprinting as a means to identifying? The first indication of the find states it was a body but then that was deemed as remains-whist realising this was a first written observation, it would be interesting on how they took the fingerprints & at what stage the body or remains were when this occured-bearing in mind the heat of the mid day sun and how long exposure was. We may also wait for the toxicology report to reveal timings, which in this terrain, plant & wildlife will have a bearing on the outcome.

By not waiting for a bus, turning down a lift and deciding to walk 11hrs in dangerous terrain off the main road tells me he was in serious desperate fear of his life!!!! Having lived in Spain for a while, i know how useless and lazy they can be; i.e. the police, the coroner, etc. too laid back for their own good. This case will never close util we get answers; We need to have a proper autopsy here in the UK before they bury poor Jay; after all if a person was murdered, beaten , strangled, stabbed, whatever, then their body thrown from the top of a mountain cliff, the bones would be broken and the bruising would be terrible. If their neck broke, how would you then tell if they were strangled? The Spanish police should never have let Ayub Qasim, and the mysterious older, black man of 40 leave the country; I'm wondering if once Jay is repatriated the UK police detectives will then re-question them; if they can find them by then! I do not like the video postings that Qasim is doing mocking the death; dancing to "You Can't Touch Me", and the balancing on the roadside concrete blocks in Masca; with two young boys exactly where Jay went missing; and also very early in the morning at approx 6:30 - 7:30 am. Where is the blanket? Where is the Rolex (AP)? Where is Jay's phone? Where is Jay's black Armani man bag? Who is the other mystery criminal black man 0f 40? These questions have to be answered. Jay would still be alive if his so-called best buddy's had not deserted him; and he hadn't been taken back to a remote AirBnB, He probably had his drink spiked, then bundled into a hire car.

I find it startling that neighbours themselves said they dont walk near there yet the landlady saw him walking up that way' Badlands 'and you didnt sound your horn and indicate dont go up that way ,since the people in the village themselves describe it as so treacherous ! Its just common sense ,and language barrier does not prevent any from indicating to someone they are heading into danger especially a young boy who is obviously a tourist ,unbelievable!

one fundamental point that no one has questioned. jay apparently left the b&b at 8.830am. It would not have been dark sunrise is about 630 am. how did he accidentally fall or not see where he was going
@LargeHands . That's a good point. They said he was found a mile away from where his phone last pinged, so how long would it take to go through that shrub a mile away. Personally I believe he was made unalive and someone said that place is near one of the hiking trails and there are tunnels there that lead to the cove.

It don't think the coroner should use statements of absolute such as 'there was no criminal activity' but i'm fine with them stating 'there is no evidence of criminal activity', as it relates to his death.

One thing that someone else pointed out in the comments.... How was Jay's body identified using fingerlrints AFTER A MONTH OUTDOORS? Even if he was found in a shaded crevice, I doubt his dabs would be intact after all that time 🤔
Maybe from the UK police he must of had them done.
Fingerprints can still be taken even if the top layer (epidermis) is degraded or decomposed. The fingerprint ridges are still on the lower layer of skin (dermis). There are numerous forensic/scientific articles on this.

His apartment and persumably his friends were in Los Chistianos near the club he was partying at yet he drives off with these two shifty characters he was suposedley aqainted with.He then leaves their apartment planning on taking a wild ass route up a mountain trail and then down a rocky gorge because he want to go back to his own appartment along the shoreline.All you can see from the viewpoint is rocks so why would he assume that that would be possible and the easiest route to take going down there?

As it wasn't natural causes and I would be getting my own postmortem done in UK if I were them but that's me if jys family are happy with the report and I'd and situation then he is their child and its their business I feel heartily sorry for his family and friends 😢

First, Birthday Blessings to Mrs. Harsh on her 21st Birthday! In the US, they would say you "robbed the craddle" to have such a young wife :) Second, I'd like to mention a couple things on orientation, About 50 years ago, at a high school graduation party, my friend's father poured me 2 1/2 glasses of champaign. The following day, I had no sence of direction! I was in a store and could only move from one place to another, if I fixed my eyes on something, like the door, and moved toward it. Also, when near home, I know where I am, by the lay of the land. Take me to a place I am not familiar with, and I could not tell east from west. I had a friend who grew up elesewhere, but after she moved here, she could not tell directions at all. So I could see Jay, in a foreign country, getting lost just walking out the front door.

I'm usually on the same page as you are with these cases but I will have to disagree with you on one aspect... If something was said that made Jay afraid to go back to the BnB, or even if Jay was threatened by Quassim maybe and that's why he left and was afraid and didn't take a lift.... STILL I don't believe those actions have any criminality to them when it comes to Jay's death if in fact Jay fell, succumbed to the weather, whatever on his walk. The threat, while it had effect on Jay's state of mind and his decision making, did not actually cause his death in any way.
Now..if Quassim drugged him, pushed him or anything like that...then it's criminal.
I think of it like this: If what Quassim did to Jay would have had the outcome of death on anyone he did it to....then it is more often than not criminal BUT I would say that most people if threatened or scared but still able to leave the area of said threat like Jay did... Would NOT choose the option of an 11 hr walk with no water, food or phone charge
Yes but I have yet to hear any cogent or even part reasonable explanation why JS went to that remote part of the island. Alternatively, why did two men take him there? Clearly there was no after party. If JS went there then a carrot was dangled and he followed it. No matter how much I try and reason with myself, I simply am not convinced he would head into the wilderness with little or no phone battery and with no water.
