বান্দরবানের দুর্গম থানচি সদর থেকে মিয়ানমার সীমান্তবর্তী লিক্রি পর্যন্ত দীর্ঘ ৮১ কিলোমিটার পাহাড়ি রাস্তা তৈরী করে চমক সৃষ্টি করতে যাচ্ছে বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনী। ইতোমধ্যে ৪৫ কিলোমিটার সড়কের কাজ শেষ হয়েছে। সাকা হাফং, তাজিংডং, কেওক্রাডং ও ডিম পাহাড়কে এক সূতোয় যুক্ত করাই এই সড়কের মুল উদ্দ্যেশ্য। থানচি থেকে ৪ কিলোমিটার উপরে গিয়ে তমা তুঙ্গীর অবস্থান।
বাংলাদেশের তিনটি পার্বত্য জেলার মধ্যে একটি হলো বান্দরবান। বান্দরবানের দক্ষিণ-পশ্চিমে কক্সবাজার, পুর্বে মায়ানমার। বাংলাদেশের সর্বোচ্চ চূড়াগুলো বান্দরবানে অবস্থিত।
Bandarban is one of the three hill districts of Bangladesh. Cox's Bazar to the southwest of Bandarban, Myanmar to the east. The highest peaks of Bangladesh are located in Bandarban.
