Oh god! This video was on point till the very end 😂
And imagine the case of a South Indian (yes me, exactly) who was raised since the childhood in 'sapnon ka nagri - Mumbai'!
Like mujhe tho hindi cartoons dekhne takh ki zaroorat nahi padi 😂. So basically once I begun attending school, speaking in Hindi was a 'baayein haath ka khel'.
And as a South Indian, I never had experiences like people calling me dosa or idli. Rather people, irrespective of being South Indian or North Indian, saare hi mere tiffin par khud padte the. Even they used to relish chapatti and bhindi ki bhaji my mother used to make.
But yes. The only thing I remember facing is - 'Yaar tu tho South Indian hai! Tu shuddh Hindi kaisi boll leti hai 😅? Like tumhara tho typical South Indian accent hota hai na.' (not to deny many South Indians in Mumbai do have a typical accent but I am one of the exceptions... But ye comment rather mere liye compliment hai so I take it at it's face value.
The most surprising person is my mother 😂. She cooks even those North Indian and Maharashtrian foods which the actual commumnity living in Mumbai won't cook but dine outside. Like I get super surprised and proud about it at the same time. She cooks even the 'puri' in Panipuri. She makes Pav Bhaji, Vada Pav, Chole Bhature, Puranpoli, Aloo Parantha, Dal Bhati Churma, Butter Chicken and even Chicken popcorn. And South Indian varieties tho pucho hi math. She cooks all the South Indian tiffins in the dhaba style. But yeah... One of the drawbacks she has is the typical accent and broken Hindi😂 ...a person can't have perfection in every possible thing right so I kind of sympathise with her (but I do force her to improve her Hindi because zayr si cheez hai. They have been living in Mumbai since 1998 so they shouldn't be confused with using 'ha', 'hu', 'hai', right! 😂).
Not only that! I used to be the topper in Hindi subject at school while every North Indian kid used to envy me (waise tho saare hi subjects mein full aate the... like meri kya galti hai na!😂)
Let me tell you one exceptional case as a South Indian.
Video mein ye bataya gaya tha ki South Indian maa baap paison ko lekar bahut protective bann jaate hai. True in my case too. Par mein unki baap hu in being miser 😂. Many a times, my parents used to request me for purchasing a cold drink in scorching heat while I reprimand them from doing so 😂😂. I tell them that if a small baccha like me can control the urge to purchase a cold drink tho tum like itne bade umar ke hokar bhi like kya hi ukhaad liya 😅😂. I frankly roast them badly sometimes and they too do sometimes. But overall.. ek badi sach bataayi gayi hai iss video mein - South Indian maa baap kaafi strict hote hai. And padhayi ko lekar tho...pucho hi math. (Freedom was never a question for me because I am not the kind of a person who yearns for privacy or misuses freedom. Kaafi dafa tho unhone freedom dj bhi par maine kabhi uska istemaal nahi kiya 😂...u see how it is! But yeah padhayi ko lekar I have bad experiences recently. I have been a topper student all my life, topped my district in the boards but NEET ke waqt muh ke bal giri hu isi kaaran ghar pe kuch gile shikwe hai. Can't help it 😢 but that exists in every damn South Indian house. Nevertheless they are the best).
By the way you must be thinking - Iss aurat ne sabhke baare mein bata diya except pitashree 😂. So yeah, he speaks the best Hindi too that too without accent. So kinda proud about him too.
And not to deny, I am much more fluent in my mother tongue - Telugu. When I speak Telugu, no english word comes in between the conversation. That's the kind of expertise I have in my language. By the way, I can completely read and write in Telugu.
Additionally I am well versed in Marathi too 😂.
South Indians are multilinguists ! 😂
I forgot to add one more important thing 😂.
As a South Indian from Mumbai, I am neither in the South league nor the North league. Let me tell you why!
North Indian people are like - Yaar, kuch Telugu mein bol kar bata.
Similarly when I go to my hometown, the people there are like - Nuvvu Mumbai lo untav kadha. Konchem Hindi lo matladavacchu kadha. Maaku kuda konchem nerpinchu vellipoye mundhu !
(Meaning - You stay in Mumbai right so talk in Hindi with us. Make us learn so Hindi before leaving again)
So you realise what I am trying to say?
Na hindi waale mujhse Hindi mein baat karte hai na regional fellows mujhse khud ke regional language mein baat karte hai.
Wow I read your long page reply and enjoyed it 😅😅 you are interesting dear ❤.
