The first to watch, but also the one where I learned the most about painting. NJM is quite a bit later, but learned a lot there about oil and airbrush.
It’s like watching inanimate objects come to life. You are SUCH an inspiration to me and so many other amateur painters. Thank you for sharing your talent.
I was just thinking this afternoon "Have I missed anything from Mark recently?" - I clicked on your page and nothing new. Then about an hour later this drops :D Absolutely cracking job on this dragon. Stunning work
He's a wizard... He's a God... He's a wizard God...! Every time he gets done with the base colors I'm like "Heh, he's great and all, but I can do that... right? probably...?" and the highlights begin and my hopes and dreams melt into nothingness.... Stunning, as always!
Always happy to see a new KDM episode! Love the work with the blue. I always get fearful doing sections with inks/transparency like that about not being able to mix up a good colour match if I need to spot colour when filling other details in.
Wow wow wow. I have not been so excited to see a video. Absolutely love your KDM video series. Thank you and I can't wait to see more of it. (I have been trying to follow a lot of them, very poor imitation but I have been learning a lot, so thank you for that as well.)
Oh my gosh, when I saw this pop up with SORASTRO underneath - I simply couldn't believe it. AMAZING! Love your work and this is just fantastic to watch and learn from.
Ahh, back to the series that brought me back to mini painting and gaming 3 years ago. Great to see man. If you start knocking out Aeon's Trespass.... Well... It wouldn't go unappreciated =)
Thank you. The head in the chest taught me how to do hot metal, but not molten metal. Think of when you have a cast iron pan and it gets hot and has a bit of a glowlike air in the dark.
Thanks so much! I had mine sitting on a shelf for years before feeling that I had the confidence to tackle it. I hope the video gives you a few ideas to help get you going.. 😀
Oh damn, so that was what you were working on! What an absolutely RAD dragon. I also understand why The Watcher was put on hold, as that miniature sure has a lot of fiddly bits and hard to reach areas. I'm currently painting the Gorm in all it's hideous glory.
I've had the dragon king sitting on a shelf with an open chest for over a year now, hoping that we'll get a tutorial somewhere down the line, thank you! Any plans on more gambler's chest content?
Truly beautiful and that glow is master level! The only thing I’m not a fan of is that the base is very close in color to the skin, giving little contrast. A lighter warm stoney beige might’ve separated the dragon a bit from the ground and framed it a bit.
@Sorastro’s Painting Would you recommend or advise against using Spray Acrylic Sealer or anything similar to protect the painting work or would that potentially ruin the work?
@@Sorastro You’re always so helpful with questions and comments. Can really tell this is a passion of yours! Any recommendations for those of us without an airbrush?
@@_D4N3 Of course, I'm always happy to help! The AK varnish can also be applied with a brush. There are also spray-can varnishes available, but it's been years since I've used one tbh. Honestly, the AK stuff is great 🙂
Thank you! I don't know the price tbh, but it's a fantastic model for sure (so is his human-form mini). I also like that you can either throw the dragon into a normal campaign as a regular quarry, or you can play through the "People of the Stars" campaign.. 😀
In the community it is considered among the best expansions gameplay wise, as you get a new campaign with unique story events ontop of a new monster quarry and nemesis encounter (although it is intended as unique to that campaign).
Your scheduled reminder that you’ve still not painted the watcher from the core set… you’ve done a guide for everything in the core game, except the watcher… PLEASE do a guide for the watcher… I face him in four lantern years, I’m running out of time
Hi! Well, I spent about three weeks producing the video, around half of which was painting & filming - the rest was editing, scripting, composing etc.. 🙂
There're multi-talented people, and then there's Sorastro. You're an inspiration man!
That's so kind - thank you 😊
Ahhh!!! My heart skipped a beat when I saw the thumbnail. Thanks so much for another KD:M video!
Aww thanks so much, buddy! 😁
Watching you create art is mentally stimulating and listening to the ambient music is somehow ....... soothing
Thanks a lot! I try to make the videos pleasing to experience, so I really appreciate that. 🙂
In many of the beautiful things you've painted, this is a top 5 sir!
Thank you so much, Patrick! It was quite a demanding video to produce for sure, so I'm glad you like it 😁
Yay!! More KDM! You were the first painting tutorials I ever watched ❤
Aww, thank you! 😊
The first to watch, but also the one where I learned the most about painting. NJM is quite a bit later, but learned a lot there about oil and airbrush.
Omg! The mighty Sorastro takes on The Dragon King!
This is right up there with The Phoenix!
Thanks so much! I really appreciate that 🤗
It’s like watching inanimate objects come to life. You are SUCH an inspiration to me and so many other amateur painters. Thank you for sharing your talent.
What a lovely comment! Thank you, Christopher. I really do appreciate that 😊
Love your Kdm tutorials. This series has helped me learn to paint. I look forward to more Kdm tutorials
Thank you so much, I'm happy to hear that! I've got plenty more KDM in me.. 😁
That final shot is so epic! Love everything about this video!❤
That's very kind - thank you so much! 😊

Absolutely cracking job on this dragon. Stunning work
Thank you my friend! Yep, I went dark for a while because this was such a demanding video to produce! I'm glad you like it 🤗
@@Sorastro It was amazing Mark. Well worth the wait 🙂
Woop woop! Another KD:M video! I must admit thsi model scares me just due to its size. Awesome work as always.
Thank you my dude! It's definitely one for the airbrush I think.. 😁
Your videos and music are so incredible. Can't wait to dig into this!
Those highly atmospheric KDM Monsters are allways so incredible to watch. Such a joy to watch you paint
Thanks very kind of you to say; thank you! 😊

Ha ha, thank you, buddy 🤗
I have waited literal years for this.
Beyond hyped.
Thank you so much! I've had it on my shelf for many years, and I just felt it was time.. 😀
Yesss, so happy to see more KDM from you, your videos are so inspiring. Hope to see some Gambler's Chest content from you!
Thank you so much! Yep, I'll be painting more Gambler's Chest for sure.. 😀
Always happy to see a new KDM episode! Love the work with the blue. I always get fearful doing sections with inks/transparency like that about not being able to mix up a good colour match if I need to spot colour when filling other details in.
Thank you! I guess that's something that comes with practice.. 😀
Wow wow wow. I have not been so excited to see a video. Absolutely love your KDM video series.
Thank you and I can't wait to see more of it.
(I have been trying to follow a lot of them, very poor imitation but I have been learning a lot, so thank you for that as well.)
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm glad you're enjoying the series 😀
I just noticed one of your Patrons is Sam Witwer and a part of me really wants to believe its THE Sam that voices Darth Maul
Ha, yes, it is! He's been a kind supporter for several years now.. 😊
An absolute masterpiece my friend! the music you did for it is also amazing.
Thank you so much Steve! I'm so glad you liked it 😊

Thanks a lot, Jeremy! AT does look amazing, but I think I have enough to paint for the moment.. 😄
Wow those florescent pigments really do give the model a striking look.
I think they're the most vibrant fluo paints I've tried.. 😀
Finally, Kingdom Death Monster again ❤😍. I'm currently building the Flower Knight. Fantastic and beautiful monster model.
Awesome work!
Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy working on your Flower Knight 😀
Amazing as always! The heart especially looks fantastic!
Thank you so much! I'm pretty pleased with how the heart turned out 😊
Your choices for color scheme always leave me floored. Stunning work, both visually and aurally.
Thank you so much, Jordan! I really appreciate that 🙂
The contrast between those cold blues and warm oranges is incredible and, much like this comment, complimentary!
Ha ha, thank you buddy 😊
Another belter, it is such a pleasure to watch your videos!!
Thanks so much, Kevin! I'm glad you enjoyed the episode 😊
Always a pleasant surprise to see Sorastro do KDM! My favorite series. Thank you!
Thank you, sir! I really appreciate that 😀
oooh I loved your other kdm painting videos and now you're painting my favorite monster!! wonderful treat, thank you!
Awesome, thank you! I'm happy to hear that 😊
As always, such inspirational work and a beautifully painted model!
Thank you for the kind words! 😀
What a beautiful Thursday surprise!
Thank you! 😊
This look amazing. Especially love the OSL. The way you did it makes it.look very achievable!
Thanks so much, Derek! I'm glad you found the video helpful 😀
Almost scream when I saw the miniature!! Please, follow with the KDM series, it is AMAZING
Thank you very much! There will be more KDM... 😁

Speechless 🤯👌🏻 Another masterpiece is completed 🤩

Stunning paintjob!
Thanks a lot! 😀
You truly have an amazing ability to paint! Now get on with the gamblers chest! 😊
Ha, thank you kindly 😊
If only it was as easy as you make it look. Keep those KDM videos coming.
Ha, thank you, sir! I'll keep doing my best.. 😀
This is insanely good!
Thank you so much 😊
Big painter!!! Amazing music!!!!
Thank you, Alex! 😊
YAY! More KDM!!!!!!
Yep!! 😁

Any plans on more gambler's chest content?
Awesome! And yep, I'll be painting some more GC for sure.. 😀
Mod Podge for gaps, does it work well? I am not familiar with the product. Beautiful work.
Thank you! Yes, I find it works well for smallish gaps. It like PVA glue tbh but dries more quickly. 🙂
Excellent work!
Thank you, sir! 😊
greeeeatttttt work!!! love it!!!!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you like it 😀
It's a masterpiece 💗💗
That's very kind - thank you! 😊
You should do the gambler
Thanks, I'm sure I will do one day.. 😀
Outstanding sir ❤
Thank you, kindly! 😊

this is so good

Amazing!
Thank you so much, Greg! 😊
@Sorastro’s Painting
Would you recommend or advise against using Spray Acrylic Sealer or anything similar to protect the painting work or would that potentially ruin the work?
Hi! Sure - I usually use the AK Interactive Ultra Matte Varnish. And for a model size, I'll apply it with the airbrush 😀
@@Sorastro You’re always so helpful with questions and comments. Can really tell this is a passion of yours!

Fantastic

Yeaaaaaaaaah 🎉 !
😁🤘
Impresionante
Thank you 😊
superb
Thanks, dude! 😀
awesome
Thank you! 😊
It looked like it was a bit hard getting the florescent paint over the grey bits that weren'r white. Looked great regardless. 😅
Thanks! I'm not sure which bit of the video you're referring too though, because I usually lay pure white down before using fluo paints.. 🙂
Not expecting this! So nice! Makes me want to order this expansion. Is it considered worth the price? That Black Friday sale will be coming soon.
Thank you! I don't know the price tbh, but it's a fantastic model for sure (so is his human-form mini). I also like that you can either throw the dragon into a normal campaign as a regular quarry, or you can play through the "People of the Stars" campaign.. 😀

The King has risen

That's a fine looking... ahem... Miniature, or is it a Max-ature?
Ha ha, or.. bigiature? 😁

Good thing I don't have Sorastro painted minis for my board games. Otherwise, I'd just be staring the whole time and never finish a turn...
Ha ha, thanks so much 😁
Superbe !
Thank you, kindly! 😀
Wow I honestly thought that was digital art... had to watch the video to believe it was actually a miniature
Thank you, sir! 😊
This took a lot longer than six months this time ;D
But damn if it wasnt worth the wait.
Ha, thank you very much! 😄
At least 120 hours of Work put in there
Hi! Well, I spent about three weeks producing the video, around half of which was painting & filming - the rest was editing, scripting, composing etc.. 🙂
@Sorastro if we take the average workingtime in shifts in Germany (40 hours a week) we have then the 120 hours xD but it's again really amazing
@@Lysair88 Thank you very much! 😊
Yay!
😊😁
YYYYYEEEESSSS
