    I love the kudos you gave to Help! Beatles White has always been my #1. I got no issues with Revolution 9. Great video

      I was about seventeen or eighteen when the White Album came out and loved it start to finish. It helped not to analyze it but to just listen and take it in. It stands up today even with some quirks. Heck, my mother even liked it.

    Yeah that lead guitar solo on the album version of Let It Be is so good, the way it sears through!

    Ticket to Ride is in my top 5 favorite Beatles songs. The opening riff, John's raw vocals, Ringo's percussion.....doesn't get any better.

    The funny thing about this discography for me... Abbey Road, Revolver & Rubber Soul are almost always my top three, but the other LPs tend to wander in and out of my favor. I'll randomly put on Beatles for Sale or Help! or The White Album and remember just how many great songs are on them.

      Agreed, although A Hard Day's Night and Please, Please Me are classics, as well, the former as the first album by a group that wrote, played and arranged all the tracks themselves, and the latter because it broke the stereotypes of groups, rock 'n' roll, and just how far one can go, in 14 tracks. Not a clinker in the bunch, in an era known for its clinkers (even a few becoming "hits").

    Sometimes you never know why things happen...The Beatles are one of them...If you listen to all their American
    released songs they add up to a little under 10 hours of music!!!! They changed music 4ever with under 10 hours
    of music that is mind boggling!!! It can not be explained.....This phenomenon IS the 8th wonder of the world!!!!

    • @tomrobinson5776
      @tomrobinson5776  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great statement! They did it all in 7 years. It takes bands/artists these days to crank out one album in that amount of time or longer. They truly were an 8th wonder.

    Rubber Soul and Revolver are my most listened to , nice to see someone not put Sgt Pepper at number one ( trendy ) ,
    things like Forever Changes by Love and Odessey and Oracle by the Zombies are much better albums ( than Sgt Pepper )
    Pulling off a whole album of good songs is a pretty rare feat .

    I know music is a required taste and rightfully everyone should have their own opinion, but it's uncanny how close my rankings would come in relation to yours, especially your analysis of Sgt. Pepper and A Hard Day's Night, which I couldn't agree with more. Where would you rank the Past Masters compilations in your list? I would put Volume 2 somewhere top 5, with Volume 1 in the lower third. Lots to talk about here, I could write a book.

    • @tomrobinson5776
      @tomrobinson5776  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree regarding Past Masters 2. It has some of their greatest non album tracks. Rain, Paperback Writer, The Inner Light just to name a few. Past Masters 1 is fabulous as well. Thank You Girl, I Call Your Name, etc. I’ve always been a fan of their non hits for the most part. The deep cuts that changed the planet. 😉

    I can say I almost completely agree with your ranking, especially your top 3. Revolver is I feel the best album of all time in two respects. #1 it was IMO the first time an album impressed me as a "body of work, an entity of its own" and not just a collection of 2 and half minute songs. #2 As an 11 year old kid it was an absolute stunner...I must have listened to it non stop for 3 months after I got it. I had been a fan of rock music before, now it was a supernatural force in my young life. #3 The "box" had been exploded. Before this rock music was contained in a box of guitar, bass, drums and maybe a keyboard or sax plus vocals. Now it became anything you wanted to throw in, there were suddenly no limits or boundaries.

    The Long & Winding Road is one of their better songs.
    It's only my opinion though.
    "One after 909" is one of my fave Beatles songs.
    The lyrics tell a great little story and the music is cool.

    Americans ranking the Beatles’ albums by doing it with the official UK releases is really ignoring the reality of the American experience of the Beatles as *we* didn’t have those ones that came before Pepper until the retro declaration that the UK ones were official for us too.
    We had 17 albums plus Hey Jude. Those were our experience and I’d like a ranking of those 18 US releases.

    Surprising list! For me it will always be Abbey Road, even though I just can't stand listen to Maxwell's... they should have put in Don't Let Me Down instead, imagine what a perfect album that would have been.

    didn’t care too much for the beatles,
    had a few record stores in the 70/80s
    so if you got t o listen all the time to the top ten, you get quite tired,
    so I searched for music, almost nobody knew or bought,
    my “pearls"....
    mostly 1 or 2 songs per lp
    bizarre, there was one single I loved : I should have known better....
    probably karma.....🤣 🙋‍♀️ 🇫🇷

  • @lupcokotevski2907

    I consider Revolver mediocre. The melodies are either weak, twee or predictable, the arrangements laborious and unimaginative, the changes clunky, and the vocals lack energy. Rubber Soul is their best songwriting album, but Sgt Pepper remains the quintessential Beatles trip. For me, of course.

      @@jacksonholley9671 And Including a children's song and a soul song lacks coherency. And Eleanor Rigby is one of the most depressing nihilistic songs I have ever heard, totally without hope. I can't stand it. Now is that more misinformation or disinformation. When you dont like an opinion, is it always misinformation. If so, in your opinion is that tyrannical. Are you capable of making an argument to debate an issue. Or do you just like everything your own way.
