I have had pretty good luck with Temu. I take my time and read the reviews. Usually if it sounds to be true, it is too good to be true. But I have gotten some really comfy everyday clothes from them. Being on a fixed income, Temu has been a life saver.
Just because the company is from China doesn't mean their workers are suffering. Alot of temu products come from individual store owners in China. It even tells you who sells the product Edit: Temu was founded and is run out of Boston Mass USA. Their parent company has moved from China to Ireland. They do source their materials/products from China. Just like MOST retailers including all the big ones.
@LoserlyCool As for factories producing unethically to be able to sell at these prices: There are children working in factorys, workers who get to see their families not more than maybe 2 or 3 days per year, the chemicals used are poisoning workers, ground and water... Who cares? I. I do. That's not ok and not to be tolerated by humanity, especially in times where it is so easy to inform oneself and make better choices.
Just be aware that the photos printed out on that printer WILL fade over time! It's thermal paper :) Perfect for if you have a store and want to print receipts from your phone though!!!!!!!!!!
I was on the Temu band wagon, loved the products and cost. However, I returned a dress because it did not fit. They issued me a credit. Then, they debited my back account the cost of the dress. Stating they did not receive the dress. So far, we are even except I don't have the dress. Then they send me a confirmation of receiving the dress. So, now they have the dress, they have the original payment and a second payment they debited from my account. I have been texting back and forth and they continue to state I have the credit. I decided I was tired of arguing with them and would use my credit and chalk up the $68.55 as a learning lesson. I tried to use my credit and received a notice that my credit was not available. I am posting this on all the Temu haul videos I can find. If you buy from Temu - do not return anything! They are horrible and have now charged me twice for a dress that I do not have.
I've never had to return anything. If I don't like it they give me a credit and I keep the item. By the way I wouldn't buy any clothing that cost a lot.
Just because you had bad experience doesn't make them horrible. I know people who buy clothes from them and love them. One bad experience doesn't mean everyone is going to have a bad experience.
If you go to China, the product prices are actually the same in-store and have lots more of variety and good quality. Just got back from my first trip and loved it there.
Oh yeah, they are 1000% doing this. Unfortunately, so is basically everyone else. Temu is just the only place that bothers pass the savings of said abuse onto the consumer. But for all their many, *many* ethical problems, the quality of their stuff has been consistently pretty good for me. Absolutely not recommended for anyone who can afford to vote with their wallet, but a potential lifesaver for those of us who can't.

there is no ethical consumption under capitalism. somewhere along the line, no matter what you buy, someone is getting screwed, whether it's Temu or Apple. Not that it's an excuse for it to continue to happen, but people should be aware that it's not always so obvious in terms of cheap items and labor. There's also raw materials going way down the supply chain from weaving and dying fabric, to picking cotton. Don't forget about all the kids in the mines harvesting rare earth metals for our phones.
Temus prices are low because they manufacture in a part of China using slave labour, Temu also has a huge amount of unresolved complaints at the BBB (Better Business Bureau) where they noted that there was a shockingly huge amount of complaints within a short amount of opening business. So please be careful before recommending a company ❤️💜

Just want to add a little disclaimer for anyone who is also considering buying from Temu. The reason that they are able to keep their prices so low is because they make products fast (in a way that harms the environment), with workers who recieve very little pay for what they're doing (often involving child labor), and their products are often just cheap throw away materials with no sort of longevity. The same is true for many other similar apps such as shein. I think videos like this just to test things out or maybe 1 or 2 purchases aren't that bad, but I HIGHLY recommend you don't go regularly supporting any companies like this. Nothing against Rae or anything, the video is very entertaining, just wanted to make anyone aware of these issues. Edit: For those of you in the comments asking for "proof" I can give you an explanation that can serve as one. You guys are all arguing about the labor part, but what I wanted people to focus on is the environment part of things. Temu operates under the mentality of "fast fashion" whether it wants to or not. This means that trendy pieces (whether that be clothing OR items) are mass produced cheaply and are, thus, sold at a cheap price. Because of this, and this has nothing necessarily to do with Temu itself, but just the psychology of humans, people are going to value and put more worth onto things they spent more money on that they deem as higher quality, and of course, the opposite is true for Temu products. Therefore, they are more likely to throw out something from Temu since they deem it to be worth less and will move on easily and then more waste just gets spread around in general. The same is true for other apps like this one and that's the MAIN problem with them. If you still don't believe me then you can do some research on the concept of fast fashion, you might learn a thing or two 👍

I feel like people don't go on the cheap sites to find what they want/need, they go on and try to find stuff just to buy something. The mentality of not really having a use for an item, but it's super cheap so might as well buy it and if it's junk it's ok because it wasn't a lot of money.

6:04 So I studied abroad for 2 months a few years back. I got a cross body travel purse off of amazon that had a metal cable through the strap, a wire mesh in the bag, and clasps for the zippers. Looks like they removed the item so I can't find it again. Also, the RFID protection, don't put a ton of stake into that. A sheet of aluminum foil blocks it out completely. I do like those for theme parks but much smaller, about the size of a phone. I keep it under my shirt so it's less dorky.
I found it sus that when my mom bought from temu all of a sudden started getting multiple charges from random countries and companies no ones heard of.

Ooooh I went on my first international trip last year!! I used a small cross body bag so I was still stylish haha. Some countries do have apps where it has all your visa and passport information too which would be handy for peace of mind 🥰
I bought the socks for my daughter (small/kid sized) and honestly they were nice when I first got them, but after washing them they like bunched up and really didn't hold up very well. So maybe the the size you got was made better since they look more like adult sized, but I am going to stick to old navy socks since they last much longer and hold their shape. Great video! :D
The bag sealer actually works very well. After you properly insert the batteries, just press as you were and it works perfectly, how often would I use it, I don't know. I have it stuck at the side of my refrigerator with it's magnetic back
Resin is another novelty TH-cam "art" phase that's awful for the environment- those "quirky" novelty earrings or drink coasters people make and sell on Etsy eventually get donated to multiple thrift stores every time someone gets bored of it and they eventually end up on landfill sites where it stays permanently because resin isn't degradable so it'll most likely eventually find its way into the ocean. Pinterest style DIY art that people quickly get fed up with 😑🤦🏼♀️

Most of the craft supplies I've gotten from them have been fairly good - except for the spools of chain I bought for jewelry making. I expected costume quality chain to begin with but the "silver" chain has large areas where the silver-colored plating is worn off showing the black base material, before I even used it. The pieces I made from the "good" sections have areas where the silver has worn off after only a couple of times wearing the jewelry.
I love Temu ! I was introduced to it by a work colleague in August ‘24, and although I bought a few gimmicky items at first, have now mastered my way around the site and more of the items I’ve ordered have been 5 stars than not. I’ve only had to send back 5 items (they didn’t fit me) and out of 40 orders of an average 8 items each time, have only had about 20 items that I’ve had refunded without return, (some were damaged, some didn’t work, some were the wrong size, or colour). The best item for myself is my table top dishwasher which I got for £166 in September (best part was it didn’t actually cost me anything as my best friend gave me £200 to pay for it as a joint birthday & Christmas present). The best items I bought for someone else, were for Christmas presents for friends. I managed to buy 2 Sterling Silver 925 rings and 2 pairs of matching earrings for just £16.68 and a personalised metal wall plaque of a Grand Piano with my fiend’s name on it (because he’s a concert pianist), a piano shaped sun catcher, and a round Treble clef sun catcher for £15.86. My fiends were ecstatic with joy to receive these ! I’ve even bought my piano friend’s birthday present for ‘25 off Temu for £22 + £2 p&p (inland delivery) which is a wood and glass made 24 wrist watch storage case (he collects them but they are just in a drawer) - now he’ll be able to display them off from February ‘25 ! All of these items are so well made. The worst item for me was a tape measure that was supposed to give an exact measurement for body sizes. The tape started at 10.04cm on one side and about -3.7cm on the reverse, meaning you’d NEVER get the exact measurement ! That got refunded straight away ! The other thing I like is that if the price of your item goes down after you’ve bought it, you can claim the difference back as a refund which you can either have sent to your bank account or have it instantly deposited as credit. You couldn’t do this in any other shop ! If you bought a dress for $20 from Amazon and the next week it was $10 from the same seller, they wouldn’t refund you the difference, no matter how much you complained ! The thing Temu is very good for is craft items. I’m starting up making jewellery and accessories again this coming year (I used to make earrings when I was in my 20’s). I’m 55 now and have been re-inspired by a colleague. The funds I raise, will be split between making more items and the charity I volunteer for. I’ve already started to invest in tools and parts and the quality is astounding.
i use to use temu till i found out how scummy they are and how many people had info stolen so i deleted my acc after almost a year i did like the items i got but honestly i rather just buy from 5 below i feel safer doing that

I just am nervous and don't want my acct hacked or anything. I already have an enormous problem with robocalls and scammers calling lying to get me to sign up for Medicare and garbage like genetic tests and COVID test kits. Ugh it's a nightmare 😅

For the bag sealer it looked like there was something on the heat element preventing it from working. I've had one and it worked great. It was very cheap and didn't have anything on the heat element. Just a thought.
the chip bag closer thingy? You dodged a bullet with that one! I've seen videos where it DOES work, and it burned through the bag and stuck the bag to the plastic thing. It is DANGEROUS! I've wanted to try Temu for craft stuff, not sure about the yarn or crochet hooks BUT I also heard that you have to watch your bank account, sometimes they'll take more money out
That is the one thing I have noticed, NONE of their clothes or slippers don't smell. I've brought things from US that smell, but not from TEMU. And yes they are inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. I wasn't disappointed in their jewelry, bought 3 rings, one was too small 😞 the other two I got just right. So think it all depends on the ring. Loved the printer though, that was cute. And yes I bought 5.00 sunglass from Big Lots 10 years ago and still have them LOL. I got some jammies, good quality and the slippers OMG...so cute and comfy.
As a disability pensioner, I love buying from Temu. I buy from them most fortnights. Out of every 15-20 items I usually only get one thing I have to return and they refund easily. I find most of their things very well made

Rae, I think the travel wallet is slim & thin because it's probably meant to be worn inside your shirt or around your waist, so thieves can't steal your passport & money.. I travel with a waistpack that's similar. Bon voyage!
I bought those same sunglasses you bought. They looked SO beautiful on the site, but when I got them I was so seriously disappointed as you were. I have not worn them at all and I was initially very excited to receive them before they were delivered. I’ve bought other sunglasses from them though that were great.
Make sure to have their UV protection checked. (Sometimes stores do them for free) If they faked the ratint it can let more uv light into your eye and slowly damage them. Edit: There are UV protection testing cards too, this way you can test a lot of sunglasses even at home.

I have bought lashes off Temu... most are excellent. A few types have too thick a band, but the self-adhesive ones are fabulous!! And demi wipes are topnotch.

I’ve always wanted a capybara teddy but don’t like supporting fast fashion companies 😢 I also don’t like that Shein class teddies and toys under the pet category to avoid regulations which means they can get away with using whatever rubbish material and carcinogenic plastic in plastic toys that are obviously for kids not pets. Also I’ve then seen comments of buyers that have given the soft toy to their dog which has then instantly destroyed it and choked on parts of it because it’s not actually a pet toy.
I remember buying a rhinestone case for my iPhone 7 many years ago on eBay. It came with the rhinestones each individually set in a claw setting and the case made my phone quite heavy, which had the advantage of knowing whether it was in my pocket or not ! I recently found this case and although it’s useless for a phone now, I aim to recycle it in some way.
While that one bag sealer was a dud, they do make some that work quite well. They've been around for years. I've used them in the past and really need to get another.

Hi - really love your main channel and also gave a like to this video. Having said that, all the hype around Temu, a company that produces a lot of items that will immidiately go into the garbage for prices that does not leave much imagination as to how much their workers are being paid really concerns me on many ways. Also, would have liked to see you actually use all the items before rating them, why do the colored eyelashes get 8/10 when you didn’t use them? To me they looked like really corse and I would worry putting them on my eyes.
The sealer does work you need to pull the thing down at the front that stops it from heating up when squeezed then when you press down on the chip bag it automatically heats up!
I still wouldn't shop from them. Their stuff might be better than wish, but not by much, and their prices are too low to not be suspicious. I don't think the quality is good, especially with the electronics. Granted, I've never shopped with them, but based on their ads, they seem a lot like shein, and shein obviously has a bad reputation.

You have to hold the bag sealer for a while in the way you hold it when you try to seal. It works, I used to have it. SUPER handy.

Just want to add a little disclaimer for anyone who is also considering buying from Temu. The reason that they are able to keep their prices so low is because they make products fast (in a way that harms the environment), with workers who recieve very little pay for what they're doing (often involving child labor), and their products are often just cheap throw away materials with no sort of longevity. The same is true for many other similar apps such as shein. I think videos like this just to test things out or maybe 1 or 2 purchases aren't that bad, but I HIGHLY recommend you don't go regularly supporting any companies like this. Nothing against Rae or anything, the video is very entertaining, just wanted to make anyone aware of these issues.
Edit: For those of you in the comments asking for "proof" I can give you an explanation that can serve as one. You guys are all arguing about the labor part, but what I wanted people to focus on is the environment part of things. Temu operates under the mentality of "fast fashion" whether it wants to or not. This means that trendy pieces (whether that be clothing OR items) are mass produced cheaply and are, thus, sold at a cheap price. Because of this, and this has nothing necessarily to do with Temu itself, but just the psychology of humans, people are going to value and put more worth onto things they spent more money on that they deem as higher quality, and of course, the opposite is true for Temu products. Therefore, they are more likely to throw out something from Temu since they deem it to be worth less and will move on easily and then more waste just gets spread around in general. The same is true for other apps like this one and that's the MAIN problem with them. If you still don't believe me then you can do some research on the concept of fast fashion, you might learn a thing or two 👍

I feel like people don't go on the cheap sites to find what they want/need, they go on and try to find stuff just to buy something. The mentality of not really having a use for an item, but it's super cheap so might as well buy it and if it's junk it's ok because it wasn't a lot of money.

6:04 So I studied abroad for 2 months a few years back. I got a cross body travel purse off of amazon that had a metal cable through the strap, a wire mesh in the bag, and clasps for the zippers. Looks like they removed the item so I can't find it again. Also, the RFID protection, don't put a ton of stake into that. A sheet of aluminum foil blocks it out completely. I do like those for theme parks but much smaller, about the size of a phone. I keep it under my shirt so it's less dorky.
I found it sus that when my mom bought from temu all of a sudden started getting multiple charges from random countries and companies no ones heard of.

Ooooh I went on my first international trip last year!! I used a small cross body bag so I was still stylish haha. Some countries do have apps where it has all your visa and passport information too which would be handy for peace of mind 🥰
I bought the socks for my daughter (small/kid sized) and honestly they were nice when I first got them, but after washing them they like bunched up and really didn't hold up very well. So maybe the the size you got was made better since they look more like adult sized, but I am going to stick to old navy socks since they last much longer and hold their shape.

The bag sealer actually works very well. After you properly insert the batteries, just press as you were and it works perfectly, how often would I use it, I don't know. I have it stuck at the side of my refrigerator with it's magnetic back

I LOVE Temu for their crafting supplies. Pendants, beads, resin molds, etc.
Resin is another novelty TH-cam "art" phase that's awful for the environment- those "quirky" novelty earrings or drink coasters people make and sell on Etsy eventually get donated to multiple thrift stores every time someone gets bored of it and they eventually end up on landfill sites where it stays permanently because resin isn't degradable so it'll most likely eventually find its way into the ocean. Pinterest style DIY art that people quickly get fed up with 😑🤦🏼♀️

Most of the craft supplies I've gotten from them have been fairly good - except for the spools of chain I bought for jewelry making. I expected costume quality chain to begin with but the "silver" chain has large areas where the silver-colored plating is worn off showing the black base material, before I even used it. The pieces I made from the "good" sections have areas where the silver has worn off after only a couple of times wearing the jewelry.
For me it's the cat eye press-on-nails. I have them in many colours and fix them with glue. I buy them when they are very cheap like 1,50 to 2 Euros.

I love Temu ! I was introduced to it by a work colleague in August ‘24, and although I bought a few gimmicky items at first, have now mastered my way around the site and more of the items I’ve ordered have been 5 stars than not. I’ve only had to send back 5 items (they didn’t fit me) and out of 40 orders of an average 8 items each time, have only had about 20 items that I’ve had refunded without return, (some were damaged, some didn’t work, some were the wrong size, or colour).
The best item for myself is my table top dishwasher which I got for £166 in September (best part was it didn’t actually cost me anything as my best friend gave me £200 to pay for it as a joint birthday & Christmas present). The best items I bought for someone else, were for Christmas presents for friends. I managed to buy 2 Sterling Silver 925 rings and 2 pairs of matching earrings for just £16.68 and a personalised metal wall plaque of a Grand Piano with my fiend’s name on it (because he’s a concert pianist), a piano shaped sun catcher, and a round Treble clef sun catcher for £15.86. My fiends were ecstatic with joy to receive these !
I’ve even bought my piano friend’s birthday present for ‘25 off Temu for £22 + £2 p&p (inland delivery) which is a wood and glass made 24 wrist watch storage case (he collects them but they are just in a drawer) - now he’ll be able to display them off from February ‘25 !
All of these items are so well made. The worst item for me was a tape measure that was supposed to give an exact measurement for body sizes. The tape started at 10.04cm on one side and about -3.7cm on the reverse, meaning you’d NEVER get the exact measurement ! That got refunded straight away !
The other thing I like is that if the price of your item goes down after you’ve bought it, you can claim the difference back as a refund which you can either have sent to your bank account or have it instantly deposited as credit. You couldn’t do this in any other shop ! If you bought a dress for $20 from Amazon and the next week it was $10 from the same seller, they wouldn’t refund you the difference, no matter how much you complained !
The thing Temu is very good for is craft items. I’m starting up making jewellery and accessories again this coming year (I used to make earrings when I was in my 20’s). I’m 55 now and have been re-inspired by a colleague. The funds I raise, will be split between making more items and the charity I volunteer for.
I’ve already started to invest in tools and parts and the quality is astounding.

Sorry to ask but I just downloaded the app out of curiosity and deleted shortly after but I made an account I think, I signed in with Google but that's it. I just am nervous and don't want my acct hacked or anything. I already have an enormous problem with robocalls and scammers calling lying to get me to sign up for Medicare and garbage like genetic tests and COVID test kits. Ugh it's a nightmare 😅

No one would even help me on Facebook tech support, despite my pictures visibly still being there, under some foreign name, it's preposterous. But I deleted the Temu app and never made a purchase or added my card. Thank you again because I was considering reinstalling it and giving it a try. Yikes 😬😳😆

For the bag sealer it looked like there was something on the heat element preventing it from working. I've had one and it worked great. It was very cheap and didn't have anything on the heat element. Just a thought.

the chip bag closer thingy? You dodged a bullet with that one! I've seen videos where it DOES work, and it burned through the bag and stuck the bag to the plastic thing. It is DANGEROUS! I've wanted to try Temu for craft stuff, not sure about the yarn or crochet hooks BUT I also heard that you have to watch your bank account, sometimes they'll take more money out

That is the one thing I have noticed, NONE of their clothes or slippers don't smell. I've brought things from US that smell, but not from TEMU. And yes they are inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. I wasn't disappointed in their jewelry, bought 3 rings, one was too small 😞 the other two I got just right. So think it all depends on the ring. Loved the printer though, that was cute. And yes I bought 5.00 sunglass from Big Lots 10 years ago and still have them LOL. I got some jammies, good quality and the slippers OMG...so cute and comfy.

As a disability pensioner, I love buying from Temu. I buy from them most fortnights. Out of every 15-20 items I usually only get one thing I have to return and they refund easily. I find most of their things very well made

Rae, I think the travel wallet is slim & thin because it's probably meant to be worn inside your shirt or around your waist, so thieves can't steal your passport & money.. I travel with a waistpack that's similar. Bon voyage!

I bought those same sunglasses you bought. They looked SO beautiful on the site, but when I got them I was so seriously disappointed as you were. I have not worn them at all and I was initially very excited to receive them before they were delivered. I’ve bought other sunglasses from them though that were great.
Make sure to have their UV protection checked. (Sometimes stores do them for free)
If they faked the ratint it can let more uv light into your eye and slowly damage them.
Edit: There are UV protection testing cards too, this way you can test a lot of sunglasses even at home.

I have bought lashes off Temu... most are excellent. A few types have too thick a band, but the self-adhesive ones are fabulous!! And demi wipes are topnotch.

I’ve always wanted a capybara teddy but don’t like supporting fast fashion companies 😢 I also don’t like that Shein class teddies and toys under the pet category to avoid regulations which means they can get away with using whatever rubbish material and carcinogenic plastic in plastic toys that are obviously for kids not pets. Also I’ve then seen comments of buyers that have given the soft toy to their dog which has then instantly destroyed it and choked on parts of it because it’s not actually a pet toy.
I remember buying a rhinestone case for my iPhone 7 many years ago on eBay. It came with the rhinestones each individually set in a claw setting and the case made my phone quite heavy, which had the advantage of knowing whether it was in my pocket or not !
I recently found this case and although it’s useless for a phone now, I aim to recycle it in some way.
While that one bag sealer was a dud, they do make some that work quite well. They've been around for years. I've used them in the past and really need to get another.

Hi - really love your main channel and also gave a like to this video. Having said that, all the hype around Temu, a company that produces a lot of items that will immidiately go into the garbage for prices that does not leave much imagination as to how much their workers are being paid really concerns me on many ways. Also, would have liked to see you actually use all the items before rating them, why do the colored eyelashes get 8/10 when you didn’t use them? To me they looked like really corse and I would worry putting them on my eyes.
The sealer does work you need to pull the thing down at the front that stops it from heating up when squeezed then when you press down on the chip bag it automatically heats up!

I still wouldn't shop from them. Their stuff might be better than wish, but not by much, and their prices are too low to not be suspicious. I don't think the quality is good, especially with the electronics. Granted, I've never shopped with them, but based on their ads, they seem a lot like shein, and shein obviously has a bad reputation.
