I never use any of these because they mar the bodywork too much. I use 3M Perfect-It clay bars followed by Angelwax Perfect Polish for the mechanical decontamination stage.
I’ll start off with stating that I’ve tried a number of different synthetic clays and they simply aren’t as effective. Maybe if you are working on a newer vehicle? But all the cars I see are heavily neglected and synthetic clay doesn’t cut it. I’ll give you a tip about the nanoskin, if you pinch it so the ends are bent upwards it doesn’t grab. I also found that it’s very unstable but pinching it helps tremendously. I probably threw mine out anyway haha
Ric’s Detailing I completely agree with you that’s why I never understood the hype so surrounding them. The mother clay block bridged that gap it actually removes contaminants very effective let give it a shot it works good. N like I said in the video I’m a clay bar fan lol
Do you claybar the whole car before doing a 1step polish? or or wash then polish with a flex buffer? also dont claybars typically leave small scartches and haze in the paint? so its best you always polish after claybaring correct?
Claying is part of the decon process and would follow an initial wash and surface level iron removal (spray product), tar and bug removal, but preceding polishing and application of a protectant. While you can wash and rinse the car off following iron removal and then clay while the car is still wet and soapy for lubricity (not in direct sunlight), you will get optimum results with less micro marring from the clay process by doing sections at a time on a dry car (in the shade or garage) and using a dedicated lube - they are inexpensive. The results have been tested and proven on other detail channels.

I never use traditional clay anymore. Synthetic clay is the way to go. I’ll look into mothers.

Next Level Auto Detail Nice, I’m def going to check out the Mother’s then. Worth the $20 if you give it the Ok!
I have the Nanoskin duo like you showed. The red is heavy and the blue is medium. I think I'll give the Mother's a shot.
I definitely see the same issue with Nanoskin block. Each time it grabs like that it leaves marring behind.
Thanks for the videos you put out. Was the marring from the Mothers Speed Clay or the Nanoskin?
Poor audio...
keld møllnitz it was raining. I tried waiting for it to pass and it was relentless. I will do better next time. Thanks for watching
