Moved from the D850 to the Z9 shortly after it was introduced. Your videos have made life a lot simpler. Thank you for all you do, another informative one !!! Cheers......
Brilliant Hudson. As always, your use case explanations help me understand the camera settings all the more. I've a Z8, not the z9, but they're so similar in so many ways!
Thanks, this is a lot of information. I like your setup, I might try it if I could come up with a way to remember the specifics of what everything does.
Just go into the controls settings and look when you need a refesher. It's a map of all the buttons and what they do. ;-) Right in the camera at all times. That's what I do when I flip from a long use of my Zf or Z50ii back to the Z9.
Thanks for the wonderful tips... Your tips have saved me a LOT of times... And I am truly grateful... One question I have though... I think I have seen you mention it, but wasn't able to find it... I just started using pre-capture... If there is a burst of sequence that I don't like... Is there a way I can delete the entire burst???

Hi Hudson, ... you know about bracketing, Nikon had extended shutter to 900 sec, but that doesn't work in Bracketing, when you have 5 times and starting with let say 5 seconds, than next 10, 20 but than it stops at 30 seconds and not 40 and last 80 seconds, i hoped Nikon had changed that in this update, i asked for that !!! Greetings from The Netherlands
Still shooting the ole D810. If I put the Release Mode Dial on the Clock,= Self Timer, the HDR Bracket will go thru the whole sequence. Might work for the Z cameras also. Maybe I missed it somewhere but never found that info in the Nikon Manual or the Farrell Young book on the D810. Hope this helps. PS; I usually have a 2 second Exposure Delay when shooting like this.
It does, but also if you just put it in continuous capture and hold the shutter it fires a burst of just the bracket and stops. I MUCH prefer simply tapping the Fn1 button and hitting the shutter though. No need to change a thing.

Thanks so much for the feedback. You're most welcome. ;-)
Great tweaks, like Nikon, I love that you provide updates as the camera evolves. Thanks again Hudson!
Special thanks Hudson, for the time & effort you put forth assisting the Z9 community! Well Done!
Always appreciate your hard work-thanks again for taking the time to deliver another outstanding video! 🙌👏 Keep up the great content!

Thanks, Hudson! You are my most trusted voice in the photography sphere.
@@eastbaystreet1242 thanks for that.
Great video ... tried the new settings and they work great.
Hello Hudson, Happy 2025, I think you are so right about the Z9 it is a marvelous camera.
Excellent information as always Hudson! I couldn’t agree more about zebra stripes on stills…happy 2025!🎉
Always Brilliant video and informative. Happy New year in 2025

Can we expect a similar video for the Z8? Your original Z8 settings videos got me up and running quickly and efficiently. I'm so grateful for that.
I've certainly done that already at the last major Z8 firmware update. Ther's a Z8/9 playlist if you look. ;-)
You are the best

Hi Hudson, Happy New Year! Loved the video. Do you think Nikon will be making the same changes to the Z8? Best G
Happy New Year my friend. I wish I had a Nikon crystal ball. I'll bet eventually. Heck they gave it auto capture. ;-)
I missed the Office hours with my picture that was submitted. Don't see the site yet.
Would love to see raw images in pre capture like other manufacturers have

Hudson, 05:45 - 60fps DX mode raw?? Have I missed something? I thought it was jpeg only...
Shoot. My bad. I mispoke on that. I don't really use those excapt for Prelrelease Capture, and I misread that. Sorry.
