Yeh there is a couple companies in the states that sell hookless winch lines and that got me thinking about how I could do it. Wish I had done it sooner
I’ve used a few winches but Would I buy it again?? My honest opinion. It’s not bad, but I don’t think it’s great. It has a lot of the right features but I think there are other winches on the market that are better. If I was to buy again I’d go for a Sherpa
@@GetCampingOz Hi mate, can you elaborate on why you'd go Sherpa next time? i.e, what are the things about the Ultra you don't like and the things about the Sherpa you do like?
Great video. I removed the hook off mine some time ago and have done many recoveries since based the same theory, one less potential point of failure.

Now that you've had the ultra winch for a while, would you go it again? I'm looking at the ultra or a carbon winch
