This was my first contact with Bachata some years ago and I've been in love ever since, even have a humbucker pickup on my guitar now. Joan Soriano shreds!
I'm proud of Bachata. I think it's the best musical style to come out of the Caribbean. I grew up in Puerto Rico, and I consider Bachata Puerto Rican, not just Dominican music because a lot of Dominicans brought the style there and it became widely accepted very early on. Oh, I forgot, you fucking rule.
+John NoNameGibbon I'm glad you feel proud of Bachata music, but saying bachata is Puerto Rican is just wrong. Feel proud about it since its latin music from the caribbean and we are all brothers. Just because you like and support something, does not makes you the creator of it.
Pilot Cookie And I'm not saying it wasn't created by Dominicans. That's obvious. My point is that Puerto Rico was one of the first places outside the Dominican Republic to receive it. In fact, Puerto Ricans were patrons of many Dominican Bachata artists early on. They would play in PR to make money. I'm not trying to rob them of that, don't worry. Therefore, I see it as just being Dominican, but also from the region of Cuba, PR, and the Hispaniola. We (these three islands) supported it before it became popular recently. Which allowed it to develop. It's very regional to me. I don't support the term Latino, byt he way. The cultures are too different to all be wrapped up in one dumb label like that to me. And race differ greatly too. That's more of an American term forced on the region.
John NoNameGibbon I like the term Latin American. I don't see what would be the great difference to separate us in different boxes. Now I understand there is differences but they are too little to actually give them any importance. Bachata is not like Salsa. Salsa music was created by the mix of flavors from all the spanish speaking countries from the Caribbean. You can see salsa artist who had great success from a lot of countries. Yet Bachata is only song with success by Dominican Artists.
Pilot Cookie Are you sure? Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, Bolivia, and the Hispaniola. Those people aren't all of the same culture and race. All they have in common is that they all speak dialects of New World Castilian. Sometimes. In the case of Peru and Bolivia they often don't. Just sayin'. That wasn't my point. It wasn't created by everyone, it was created by Dominicans. But everyone supported it. It was the only way they could make money off of it. And by the way, are Aventura, for example, truly Dominicans? Because I thought they were, until I found out they were from PR a month ago.
Aventura is a group made up of 4 American men. 3 of which are descendants of Dominicans immigrants. While one of them is the descendant of Dominican and Puerto Rican immigrants. They are all born and raised in the Bronx. Therefore they are an American group, who made the decision of embracing their Dominican culture, and sing Bachata. You must be desperate to feel proud about something. Where is the Puerto Rican influence in the group? Also yes, I consider Argentina, Peru, chile R.D and P.R part of the same Culture. I would even consider Brazil part of it too. We all share the same continent, speak the same language( or similar in the case of Brazil), share the same religion, have similar history of colonization, sports, and very similar customs and traditions etc Race is not a requirement to be Latin American.
Joan Soriano says that he still has his white Yamaha, "la Niña Linda" y nunca va a vender ella! He will return with her on a tour he has coming up! : )

can anyone help me get the tabs to vocales de amor?
What effects are used to get that sound?
Just an older Yamaha APX (when they still have 9v vs 3v preamps), a humbucker, into chorus. Ibanez PT4 is the holy grail, though any chorus will do.
@@sebastiannai4381 what kind of humbucker? Will any due?
What guitar is that ??
Looks like a Yamaha apx 700
