    Excellent video. Was very informative. I enjoyed watching it. The sequoia is the best vehicle I've ever owned. If It wasnt my daily driver I would definently outrig it just like yours. Keep up the great content

    That looks badass! Recently got 21 mpg out of my 2004 Sequoia 4WD. That was on a highway trip from Florida to Pennsylvania but that was very sensible driving and doing a steady 55. At 300,000 miles your engine is barely broken in 😆

    I was able to get an 01 with 245k that was hidden under a shed. Paid $2000, put a battery in it and drive it home! Nice vehicle!

    Amazing suv! Although I sold mine and got a 200 Landcruiser, the only thing I miss is the additional rear space and the cup holders...and the couches that they refer to as "seats"

    • @wasatchmotoco
      @wasatchmotoco  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha the cup holders and unrivaled the 200 series are amazing rigs too!!

      Id think the seats in the 200 are better, are they not?

    I'm looking for a 05-07 sequoia, test drove one days ago and the power on that v8 is enough for my needs. It will be a family hauler and just around town driving for the most part.

    Great job and great build. I concur Toyota is #1. I have the 2nd gen sequoia and almost complete with my overland build.

    • @wasatchmotoco
      @wasatchmotoco  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sick! I love the 2nd gens too. Alllllmost got one myself but ended up keeping my 1st gen :) both some of the best used suvs ever made for sure!

    Great video! Still learning about these. I’ve been thinking of adding a 2007 to the fleet, but mpg is worrying me. How bad is it? Otherwise, is there much after market stuff for the 1st Gen? I hate the look of the 2nd gen, but like all the extra stuff you get…

    • @wasatchmotoco
      @wasatchmotoco  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Mine got 17mpg average before I lifted it and added all the accessories. I'm probably somewhere around 12mpg average now. If you want something to save gas with, this IS NOT it haha I just fill it up when it needs it and roll on :)

    • @JC4130BMX
      @JC4130BMX 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I had a 2001, averaged 13.9 stock combined....17.9 best ever I got all highway/road trip with good gas

    Big advantage to the earlier series of first gen Sequoias: manual hi-lo shifter. The second series is electronic. I will always choose the manual.

      Giving up the 5spd and more power for that. Seems alot of the earlier guys swap a fj tcase anyways,. starting off with a later model and doing the same just makes more sense if thats the plan

    i love GX470 by Lexus-- but it's getting hard to find good ones... That is a bit big for me.. but I LIKE them.. I hope you had the balljoints done every 100k or so.. and the timing belt and ater pump (since it's the 470...) I want the Lexus and put an extra gas tank in the wheel well where the spare would go- making it 56 gallon capacity instead of 23-- then the rest like the other Lexus you see on here.. As to the joints-- REPLACE THEM ALL at the same time-- one new one will actually throw more force on the older one to break it faster.. !!!

    What is your over all hight. I have a really hard time getting through some trails in my area. ( 3 inch lift, 33s, 2 inch flat roof rack).

    • @wasatchmotoco
      @wasatchmotoco  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      94” is my total height, so just under 8 feet. I haven’t had any trouble with accessing right trails. The boxes are super sturdy too so I’m not to worried about something ripping them off lol

    Little bit more in fuel ?? 😏 toyota fan boys cant count . My bmw x5 gets 23-26mpg my friends 4runner gets 15-17. If you actually count its about 10k$ over only 100k miles . Basically you buy slow and boring car but at the end in reality any modern car would cost you less over many years even if its not as reliable. DO THE ACTUAL COUNTING . Thats why toyota fan boys never talk numbers !!!

  • @davidwayne9982
    @davidwayne9982 ปีที่แล้ว

    THAT 470 is DOCUMENTED to go well over a MILLION MILES-- more than double what you said-- as long as you do maintenance regularly.. and the belt at LEAST ever 100k.. (water pump too as long as you have it torn down)...
