Yes I'm having that issue with mine. I installed the driver and I get ready for use, instead of Driver Installed. And of course on Device Manager it does not see the STM Device in DFU Mode. I tried it on 5 different Windows PCs including Windows 7, Windows 10 and Windows 11. Anyway I went ahead and ordered a DMR hotspot ready to go from Aliexpress for around $60. It was 70% off with only 4 left. This hotspot has good reviews. I'm going to try that one just to get going. Plus it looks cool lol. I'm not giving up. I still have servers that I can run many virtual machines. I may setup an old Win XP VM just to try again. I will explain during my next live stream. Thank you for this video.
Sorry to hear you could not get it installed. I have seen others say the same thing. The Virtual OS I was using is an old Windows 10 version - 2004. It worked straight away without needing the DFU driver, & installing the new one updated that driver. If Win XP does not work, then try the 2004 version of Win 10. I look forward to seeing your new Hotspot as I have been thinking of getting one.
DFU is used for flashing firmware. Does the CPS use the same lead and system for programming, or does it use a normal USB to serial lead like analogue handhelds? I am a bit confused. Just waiting on the radio arriving, but i have read that the internal microphone can be damaged if you power on with programming lead plugged in. I am not sure what lead they are referring to. I got the STM driver. The latest one is OK for Win 11.
I have switched on my Baofeng when connected to my PC & never had an issue. CPS uses the same USB programming cable as the one for flashing the firmware on the DM-1701. The one you need is mentioned in this video...th-cam.com/video/kZAWzteIQ_Q/w-d-xo.html
@@mutezone Thanks. That's very helpful. I was sure it must be the same lead. I will let you know how things go. I have done DMR before but I want to use this radio to learn how to build code plugs properly and also do some experimentation. I checked my receipt and it was unbelievably £32 including tax and delivery, with a lead (which might be the right one) because of all the discount vouchers I had.
@@mutezone Unbelievably as I finished typing that comment the courier arrived with the radio. Correct lead in the box, UK plug on the charger and it has Open GD77 already installed. I've put it on charge and will have a play later.
Thank you so much, i was having an issue with connecting and this fixed it for me
You're welcome.
Mine did say radio in usb mode with the ! mark. I extracted the folder and used the device manager to update.
Thankyou it worked for me on Windows 11.
Great to hear. Thanks for the information.
