  • This week, Trev returns to the South West Coast Path for a 10 mile stretch between Par and Mevagissey in South Cornwall, and all whilst wearing a sexy poncho!
Its been a while since I did any real coast walking, and the first walk after Christmas is always the hardest. I must admit that this walked did knock me for six - I slipped mid way and strained my a** muscle, I walked 2 miles extra as I parked in the wrong place, then, once I got the bus back to Par I had to walk another mile and a half as the bus didn't drop me anywhere near the car park.
00:00 - Urban Schmurban (Par Sands / Par Town)
02:47 - On the Coast at last! (Carlyon Bay)
04:54 - Rocking the Poncho (Charlsetown)
    07:33 - Cliffside ramblings (Porthpean)
12:06 - Memorable Monolith (Black Head)
16:51 - Tired and almost Tyred (Pentewan)
21:00 - A sight for sore eyes (Mevagissey)

Years ago I organised a trip to Mevagissey for a bunch of international students of Uni. Exeter. Few days afterwards some of us had a dinner party with other friends and this student started to talk about the coast towns and sceneries. At this point someone asked him the town's name, he struggled for a few seconds then said "Megapissy". I laughed so hard my beer-filled stomach cramped for at least 10 mins.

Ive done Minehead to Wesward Ho! so far. Im only doing it in fair weather so i can take my time and enjoy it. After watching this i cant wait for spring to get back on it although i'm not looking forward to the logistical planning of local coastal town buses now that i'm getting further away from Barnstaple train station. Bring back the branch lines.

Walked that stretch 4years ago and you reminded me if the pain. The latter part is severe. Yes there is a entrance into the path of the road as you leave Pentewan but it was not easy to spot but essential you find it on that road!😮‍💨

So good to see you out and about again Trev, even more so on the SWCP. Turned into a stunning walk for you. Don't pressure yourself to *get it done* the enjoyment should be spontaneous and the achievement of completion will be all the sweeter for doing it at your own pace, not because you feel you should get content done. I can only speak for myself but, I love your videos, be they camps, walks on Dartmoor, or product reviews, and enjoy them all the more because you're enjoying them. Life isn't a race, and tomorrow isn't given, so live for today and enjoy what you do, when you do it... xxx
