  • EcoTraining brings you another episode in our Birds of the Bush series. We'll bring you something about the bush birds YOU want to see each month.
We received a request from Michele Bertoncini and Giraffe Girl to feature the Bateleur; without further ado, let's join EcoTraining Instructor Richard Davis in search of the Bateleur. (French for 'tightrope-walker'). This raptor spends days soaring through the sky, scanning for its next meal.
The Bateleur eagle is currently listed as an Endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
Please leave us a comment below and tell us if there is a specific bird you would like to learn more about, we'd love to hear from you!
EcoTraining is also offering an Online Birding Enthusiast Course.

Everywhere I read about these lovely birds it talks about their distinctive "acrobat" way of rocking as they fly, but I can't find a single video of it! I was hoping to catch a glimpse here but oh well, still a lovely video and lovely footage!

Did you know that the Bateleur (Terathopius ecaudatus) is the largest of the fifteen extant species of snake eagle?
