Yeah the gearing is better but also the 8spd zf is better shifting right off the factory floor. Tuning can help the 65rfe alot to shift better but obviously there isn't as much gearing to keep use of the power band. Deeper gears still do alot for 0-100 .

@@ejharrelson3092 yeah, it would've been interesting. Maybe it was omitted because the 07-09s are mechanically identical to the 04-06s. For the 3rd gen there were changes, mainly in the transmission going from a 5 spd to an 8 spd but the 2nd gens all had a 5 spd so there was little chance for any performance gains
@@luisinhoens90 well yeah, but mine had a 5 speed, it was also the 4.7 slt though and it was chillin with like 305 hrspwr. Durango’s are my favorite other than Ram’s of course so that’s why I was like where’s my baby at haha

My RT Durango gets 20mpg average driving to Denver and back from Bailey Colorado daily and I have 3 vehicles with the 5.7 and my parents have had them as well no blown engines but we don't run our oil for 100k miles like lifetime fluids 😅

That 8 speed is so necessary. Those 3 extra gears make a huge difference
crazy that going from a 5 speed to 8 speed you gain 1 sec 0-60 just by having better gearing

I have a 2nd gen hemi and it’s faster than that and a new gen GT that’s as fast as the facelift.
Yea but those motors are extremely unreliable my dad blew 3 diffrent motors in that POS and it gets god awful gas mileage some times 8-9 mpg
@@KR0TE7 mine gets 10mpg and 220k Mike’s parents had it since new than I took it. Gt gets 14 and has 23k miles.
