I work as a car porter unloading brand new cars off the trains and I get to drive these cars very often since Subaru's are always coming and man it always brings a smile to my face whenever I have to move these cars, the driving feel is just superb and so playful and fu. the TR is more honest version of the WRX, if not better than the Ts
    the TR was spot spot on handling\steering without all the gizmo crap, not to mention most people prefer the analog gauges which were perfectly fine.
    I don't see myself switching mode every damn road, I want a car that is calibrated for all use, a middle ground ,
    just like the TR was. without the overly softness of the base WRX.
    Subaru should have keep the TR as a permanent trim for the WRX.

      You’re right, the WRX doesn’t qualify as a sports car, because in practical application it’s a RALLY CAR, as evidenced by the fact that multiple independent dyno tests have shown it’s actually pushing over 300 hp and 300 plus lb ft torque at the crank (there’s your “hp bump), coupled with a very aggressive AWD system, a beefed up suspension and track focused adaptive dampers. An economy car with a personality is a Sentra in midnight edition trim, lol. If you want to get technical, it’s a “compact sports sedan” in the same segment as a GLI or Elantra N, only better because you can’t get either of the aforementioned cars with optional AWD.

    No power bump? That's a crime. 45k for most of what comes standard on an EN, minus brakes and AWD.

      Multiple independent dyno tests have shown the WRX to be pushing over 300 hp and 300 plus torque at the crank. Advertised numbers by Subaru are most likely “at the wheels”. Try tossing a GLI around a track like you can a WRX, and you’ll quickly realize how white knuckle slippery FWD cars are with all that power and no aggressive AWD system to properly distribute it to the tires, lol.

    • @NPazdernik
      @NPazdernik หลายเดือนก่อน

      @nelsonvanvickle8862 and yet the EN is still faster in a straight line and on a track. Even in its manual form, and coming in $10k less than this. That's my point

    As someone who owned Toyotas/Hondas/2 Subarus for the first 15 years of driving, I have now switched to Germans, and that’s even after 3 S2000’s and an Integra Type R.
    The Japanese brands have really lost their ways and have played it too conservative in the market. They have winning/working solutions, but then play it safe, it feels like their lineups aren’t as fun as they used to be.
    I bought my Supra BECAUSE it was a partnership with BMW. The Germans are CONSTANTLY advancing technology and pushing the limits. Is it always reliable? Maybe. But to push technology and advancements, risks have to be taken.
    For $45k, I’d rather spend $4k extra, and get a brand new BMW M235i, or even a GR Corolla.

    This compared to a Elantra N is a tuff sale. The auto is a joke compared to the DCT in the Hyundai. The ONLY edge this has is the AWD. But I’d still take the Elantra

    If a boring SUV with useless digital touchies and screens sells for the same price i know i would buy a different type of daily vehicle just like that to standout and have a great driving experience ^^

    The power doesn’t bother me, but what does is Subaru’s steadfast refusal to give us a WRX wagon. Also, the $45K price tag for this is ridiculous.

    For a couple of thousand more I would go Ford Mustang GT all day long but that's me. I realize they're completely different vehicles although both are purchased for performance. If buying as a daily driver and you live in an area that experiences significant snow, go the Subie route.

      I sold my 500whp sti a couple months ago and picked up a 24 mustang gt, and honestly its a much better car. The sti always felt like an econobox that tried to be a sports car. Where as the mustang is a sports car through and through for better or worse lol. Even though my sti had more whp than my mustang the mustang was much faster around town.
