I love that not only does this great man speak the truth, but he does so knowing that there are more naive and ignorant people out there who will regard him to be mad. Accepting the shit that we are spoon fed from the day we are born from schools, governments and the media is mad, and waking up from that is FUCKING BRILLIANT!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Russell,
I feel more and more detached from the world and the existing paradigms which we are currently bombarded with. It's exhausting really, and hard to understand for those who are not into the topic on how these discourses are slammed into us every single second of our life (the adds on youtube are screaming for my attention as we speak). Your video's and thoughts combined with the humor and occasional wisdom give me some sense of relief that I'm not the only crazy one out here.

Returning some of the organic good energy you give: Russell, this comment comes from a house spouse dading twin one year olds. Fulltime took on new meaning for me when those siblings came along. Every few days or so, once they are asleep and I have enough energy to not pass out, I catch up on your series of Trews. dude, your erradic rendering of all the tallow-like news into useable candles by which to cast a light of hope is endearing, engaging and helps me stay... Humanized. Thank you. .... And keep that orchid in East London alive! ;)

Thanks for the philosophy bit. I will give it a shot, why wouldn't I. Choosing to be happy. How come nobody mentioned this sooner. Everybody says get a job, buy a house, get married, blah, blah. Yet some scruffy ex junkie suggests that I simply choose to be happy. He has mentioned this twice, minimum, and I have only just made a conscious decision to do it.
Russell you are right. Thanks for your persistence. I am happy. I have chosen to be happy. Sounds a bit gay. I shall start with choosing to be content. Satisfied. Perhaps working towards happy when I feel more comfortable with myself. More content. Awesome. It is my choice and I just made it. Job done. We'll see. Best of luck to everyone who gives it a go.

"We are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. There is no such thing as death, life is just a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves."
Bill Hicks really did have some proper gems, and if we all knew that we were one, and acted a tiny bit kinder to one another, the reality we've created for ourselves would be just a little bit less shit.

  • @BlackIce0240

I'm worried that you might stop doing these for some reason or another eventually. Doing them daily must be difficult, especially with a busy schedule. I have found these so rewarding. In the last 3 weeks I have asked myself deep questions about the reality I believe we live in. What was once a confusing set of feelings, are know being verbalised by you. If EVERYONE could listen to these and be brave enough to accept/question these things, some how wake up from their sleep, a monumental change would happen in a click!

Russell you're amazing, love your ideas and the way you understand and see the world. I only wish everyone could really get a hold of this and change our freaking media. I loved your bit in Messiah Complex about how our senses are limited, so of course we can't see and experience everything there is in the Universe. I believe we were created that way on purpose because we were not meant to be able to understand everything in the "spiritual realm". I don't think our human minds could handle it! Love the excerpts from the books, and just thank you for sharing yourself in this intimate way with the world. :) and to the haters, get over it, it's just one man's perception of the world. My dad always told me perception is nine tenths of reality.. ; )

WHY DOES THIS NOT HAVE MORE VIEWS? Whether or not it is his opinion (please dont argue its sensationalist, it exists in the polarised ridiculous world that it does), it is atleast a genuine opinion on the reality of media distortion taken from his personal perspective. We have Media Watch in Aus that does it very much the same only with a less satirical take (no idea whether or not you Brits have the same level of media analysis, assume you do) and those are the things everyone needs to stay as informed as possible.
Brand's word is not gospel. however atleast its a consumable way of interpreting the information. In itself being an indictment on the consumption of media as a whole.

I wouldn't want to live in a bubble of unconditional happiness though. I'm fine with just moments of happiness. If there was happiness all the time, happiness as a concept would cease to exist. We'd just call it 'the status quo'.

Rusty, love your work. Fight the power! Just a minor criticism, you seem to have shifted slightly to just taking the piss out of whatever you see in the newspaper. For example, what's wrong with scientists trying to figure out the world. Do you really think they're not aware of the arbitrary nature of time and our calendar systems? Also guides trying to promote a health body image. To get those badges they have to demonstrate genuine understanding of the concept and surely that's a good thing? Anyway, aside from that I love what you're doing and it's the first thing I watch every day. Thanks for being a voice for all the like minded people who would otherwise feel a bit alone and rejected by society, culture and it's various constructs.

Let's stop being defeatist and work to change this docility, because at the end of the day it is all an illusion, a dream, and if you've ever practiced lucid dreaming then you know that reality is much more fluid that 1984 would have us believe.

Russell Brand is a credit to the ability of people to transcend the narrow, marginalised boundaries that we choose to circumscribe ourselves by.
Yes, he is hilariously funny, but he is also a constant reminder that the degree with which we choose to engage with the fabricated narrative of the media, is up to us. Like the Beatles said "love is all you need". The rest is utter bullshit and pointless distraction.

    "Could We Cancel Debt?"
In a word, YES! Private debt cancellation and government debt accumulation are the *only* ways we get money into our economies in the first place!
The fact of the matter is that we're going to get the same problem though if we don't fundamentally change the way money is issued.

There are some things I refuse to detach from. I refuse to detach from those I love, the subject I study and aim to help alleviate the worlds hunger, there are things worthwhile to stay attached to. If I where completely detached from everything that in my view is apathy. I also think a world where people suffer is flawed and cannot completely agree with all existance and it should be changed so that more people can have the opportunity to obtain happiness.

He's also involved in some court cases against the big banksters.
