Sad thing is the New Gods was meant to be a limited series ending with (IIRC) Orion beating the tar out of Darkseid and revealing him to be a coward. Sadly Dc seeing big dollar signs on Darkseids character wouldn't have that. Now Darkseid is treated like a copy of his most popular copy; Thanos to the Justice League's Avengers when other villains like Mongul or the Anti-Monitor would fit the role with less complications. As imposing and terrifying as Darkseid IS, DC conveniently forgets Darkseid is first and foremost the Archenemy of New Genesis (Izaya and Orion especially), making him a generic overhyped Justice League villain that requires nerfing on all levels. Hell, the writers often forget New Genesis exists if not make New Genesis look downright oblivious when Darkseid attacks earth. And overall much like Disney's epic screwup on Star Wars, DC stumbles over the New Gods lore, unable tell the diff between "Space Thor" or Super Aliens. The New Gods was not another brand of superheros, it was a Norse/Greek Mythology/saga in a class of their own with worldbuilding and a deep story, much like the acclaimed Graphic Novel series "Elf Quest."
All The New Gods do in mainstream DC comics is overcomplicate things or are treated like a redundant Hufflepuff House; more plot holes, story-breaking power, out-of-context issues and all that. Best example is Grant Morrisons version in the "Darkseid War" where Darkseid was most OP'd with "video game avatars" and a true form while apparrently the rest of the New Gods didn't, aka the same version used in Death Battle (RIP THanos, oops spoiler). Darkseid was so OP'd I feel DC in respect to the late King of Comics should've stopped using Darkseid as an endgame boss after the DCAU concluded and kept the New Gods to themselves using them more in cameos or their own arcs where the Leaguers are merely witnesses to their conflict and destruction ala Thor's Ragnarock. It would keep the Cosmic Horror and Power level aspect of the New Gods intact, needless to say keep DC stories from getting as predictable as the obvious slasher movie victims.
All in all RIP Jack Kirby. May somebody at DC treat your creations with respect to your vision.

You must not have read New Gods .. I have a channel dedicated to it... I'm planning on remastering my first 7 issues with a narrator voice... anyways.. you said that Darkseid is first and foremost a New Genesis villain.. that isn't true. In the first issue of New Gods, it is taught that Darkseid wants the Anti-Life equation. Which is on earth. Orion is then told by the source that he will face Darkseid on Earth... it would've been a matter of time before Darkseid faced the Justice league on Earth.. and oh.. most of Jack Kirby's run takes place in Metropolis... I agree with some of ur points but disagree where u said that he is a New Genesis villain first and is a copy of his copy, Thanos.
Dc trying to cash in and copy Thanos ruined Darkseid. The common conception of him is that he's just another powerful galactic conqueror.

Dont think Darkseid is anything like Thanos, but rather a Space Sauron, whenever not portrayed as a generic evil overlord.
And you know what, actually like Darkseid be present as a force of nature a lot more thna him being secretly a coward.
But yes, it's a shame how the rest of the New Fods barely get any recognition despite how popular Darkseid has become.

I really enjoyed the video. Those are a lot of characters in that video. Hopefully Todd McFarlane will make more DC MULTIVERSE action figures and Mega Figs out of those characters. It'll be nice if Todd McFarlane was to make Yuga Khan into a DC MULTIVERSE Mega Fig. As well as Orion and Grayven the sons of Darkseid into Mega Figs. Because we already have Kalibak as a Mega Fig. Also I really hope that Todd McFarlane will make Grail the daughter of Darkseid. I noticed she wasn't mentioned in the video. But that's okay because I still enjoyed the video regardless. I also would like to see Granny Goodness, Mister Miracle, Light Ray as DC MULTIVERSE action figures. But I would like to see Big Barda as a tall Mega Fig. Because she's big, and goes by the name Big Barda. I would like to see High Father as a Mega Fig. Now I heard on The TH-cam that there's going to be a Darkseid Mega Fig. So I'm pretty everybody including me is waiting for that one.
