I turned 480 bauxite into 240 sheets and 160 casings, so far this has lasted me all the way tot he end of phase 4, I used them for mk5 belts ofc, but now also for RCU's, fused modular frames and turbomotors (cooling units require heatsink aka sheets) and I STILL have leftover/min to build everything that costs both rescources
in most games sure, in satisfactory the rail placement is jank, and the train schedules are waaay too inflexible for my taste. They're glorified belts that take extra fuel.
Bauxite is my favorite part of the game, I love pipes. Working on a Distilled Silica facility rn, its a dope project the byproduct recipes are awesome! Way more interesting than bulding the same manifold 500 times just for different materials.
I’m doing the same thing rn. How did yours go? I’m distilling for a massive amount of silica to use in everything but mostly aluminum. 16 fully overclocked 😅
Fluid that is loaded from above takes priority over fluid loaded from below, so you have to use a valve to ensure that your byproducts are used. If you instead load the extra from the bottom, you don't need a valve to ensure your byproducts are used first
FYI for the belting (example around 11:10) you can just double click without moving your cursor once you see the starting point of the belt snap. This works 99% of the time if the space between connections is as close as possible without clipping. Will save some wrist pain if when your ever snapping belts for an hour straight.
instead of doing the valve-from-the-top with still some possibility to fail - i would rather split the first refinery into two: one gets only the 80 of fresh water and the other one is 120 of only residue water. this way is 100% fail-proof and used to work without jams for 50+h in my previous playthrough
You can never take a Factorio player away from their game. Tbh, whenever I play satisfactory I just think "damn, I wish this was like in Factorio where it is much better" ESPECIALLY trains
15:48 To make it less awful, I'd recommend adding a pump between an output and a junction. Otherwise, this setup is a lot more prone to clogging up when something goes wrong and some of the aluminum isn't consumed since water from below go in both directions, and you absolutely don't want it to go back into the output of a refinery. You may use a valve, but they reset a headlift and, from my experience, weird things happen with priority junctions when there's no headlift.
Not sure if someone mentioned it or not but that bug with the Blueprint where it builds from a distance might be caused from fly mode if you don't disable fly mode before using the blueprint it might calculate from your last interaction/position or something. Not sure but just a thought.
Never had that happen to me in my current playthrough without advanced settings. I guess you're right that it has something to do with flying or with advanced game settings in general.

Concrete is not used for anything in large quantities and hardly give any points. You would build a useless factory for no purpose. I'd much rather recycle the water so I need fewer pumps and pipes
Wet Concrete is used when you want the build to be able to stop without locking up, or if you need the concrete for the new steel beam/pipe alternates. The alternative is to sink the excess aluminum, which is what Nilaus aptly demonstrated.

For what reason? So it doesn't make you sad? He played hundreds of hours of this game and fly mode is just a (albeit - cheaty) way to avoid pointless micromanagement in a series that does not really concentrate on a survival aspect, because it's more of a tutorial.
Who has all the materials you explored in flight-Mode? D you ever made a blueprint without flight mode. Nearly impossible until flight is possible, What you're showing is endgame stuff and not a tutorial.. Noone can build what you're showing when not in Endgame. 😞
Building Blueprints is finnicky, but definitely doable without a hover pack (or fly cheat). Just put some lookout towers around your blueprint designer and use a jetpack.
Making blueprints without flight is not impossible, what a ridiculous thing to say. None of this is endgame stuff, nor is this series a tutorial for beginners. If this is your first time playing, you're better off discovering the game yourself rather than trying to copy experienced players and complaining that you can't follow.

I had a thought the other day. With 2 Refineries out of 3 somerslooped you could match the ratio of water needed to make a closed loop.
waste of somersloops. Much more important things to use them for. They are limited and all are allocated better than Alu
