    So glad to hear about your enjoyment of Australian rainforest. I live in Kuranda, rainforest, above Cairns. Its an amazing world of artistic inspiration. During summer the forest gifts an array of weird and wonderful fungis/ mushrooms. I would be happy to send you photos from time to time as i come across them during my forest explorations

      Oh! I wanted to go to Kuranda, but timing was too short, Australia is quite huge!
      That is kind of you, but I already follow a lot of photographers, so I have a lot of inspiration already :)
      And maybe I'll go back to Australia one day, and I'll make sure to stay a little longer in the tropics :)

    Well hello from West Aus 🤗✨
    so interesting to hear you speak about my country. I love the birds too 💕 bin chickens are cool yes …. magpies are great too. I live near blue wrens & also black swans.
    🕊🦜🪶🐓🪺🐥
    I’m with you, the snakes are challenging, I live in the country & am very alert myself.
    Wish I could have met you while you were here 💝 much love

    I'm so glad you enjoyed your trip here. I'm from Western Australia and we have a 'bin chook' lol that has made his home on our property, only gardens no trash here haha. I think he is beautiful too. I have a lot of photos of our birds, nature, animals etc if you ever need for reference. We certainly do get huntsman spiders in our house which I hate. The vacuum cleaner with the super long hose becomes my best friend. Unfortunately there are a few deaths from snakes, tiger snakes, king browns etc. The cities I personally don't like either but that's because I am a country girl. Our beaches are definitely the best and our sunsets. Also the forrests 🥰 Glad you are home safely and making videos again, I just love your artwork. Xx

      I took a lot of pictures of nature, I think I need to print some and make a reference sketchbook of some kind.
      Huntsman spiders look scary! I would not be comfortable with those either in my home. But from what I heard they're helpful.
      Thank you so much! :)

    🦜🦩😊 Heureuse que tu aies apprécié ton voyage en Australie et on voit bien que plein d’idées fourmillent déjà dans ta tête après toutes ces inspirations ! D’ailleurs, les falaises avec toutes les strates fines horizontales m’ont fait penser à tes livres sculptures ! Heureuse aussi que l’exposition se soit bien passée, on n’en doutait pas 😊😊 On voit que tes batteries sont rechargées à fond et je suis curieuse de voir les prochaines œuvres qui vont émerger de ce voyage entre autres. 👏👏🥰

    🦆 I’m glad you had a good trip to Aus. It is a very diverse country and there is so much to see. The east coast is beautiful, and Tasmania but there is also the red centre and west coast but you would need more time. I agree that there is much more to see outside our cities. Thank you for sharing your adventure, and who knows, maybe, just maybe, you will make the epic trip again one day 💚💛
    Ps. The large lizard might have been a goanna 😊

    • @stephanie.kilgast
      @stephanie.kilgast  ปีที่แล้ว

      it did look like a goanna, so maybe that was the one!
      Australia is huge so I had to make choices, so I focused on what I usually prefer which are forests. You'd probably need a few months to explore Australia, but that would be another budget or lifestyle :)

    🐦 I had really wanted to see your exhibition but I got caught up and couldn’t make it. I agree, the best part of Australia is the nature. Our cities are nothing compared to those in Europe.

    Hellloooo enjoyed watching your vid. haha i did have a giggle at the accent on how you say hobart (sounds like hobbit which is very fitting to be fair for hobart/tasmania haha!) ho-bart. I defiantly can see why there were frustrating parts of Australia, particularly Melbourne where im from. Melbourne is defiantly more about some of the laneways, coffee, business and then if you (exactly as you said) go outside the city I would recommend the dandendong ranges for walks and if you like beaches the Mornington peninsula. I recently went to tassie and unzoo is different from many of the zoo's in australia. Sydney is great for tourists as its basically set up that way. oh because i love bugs and snakes and stuff haha. Funnel webs are the most venomous spider (lots north of melbourne) and you will basically die unless you get to a hospital VERY fast. But yeah-red backs are scary because they are so easy to encounter. Tiger snakes are dangerous but I would say the Brown snake is far more risky as they are more venomous and aggressive (they are a bit nuts). Technically the taipan is the most venomous but like...nobody sees them. Brown snakes-eep. But yeah travelling and hiking in tassie a few months ago you did really well-and defiantly its best seen on the road with a car if possible. I love that you love bin chickens. Bin chickens are kinda picked on but kinda loved-they are in melbourne too! more in the suburbs though.🐦🦤 oh how were the crazy big goose things in unzoo. ueeeghh! Haha i didnt realise you were "here" for the exhibition *facepalm*. Anyway helloooo from Australia! Although the heat is insane but if you like nature WA is really worth seeing for the reefs, rocks, animals and culture and people.

    • @stephanie.kilgast
      @stephanie.kilgast  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah yes, the funnel web spiders, my friend actively tried to find some in the bush to show me. I didn't know those were the most venomous. Just reading, and apparently there are a lot of different ones. The most deadly is the Sydney funnel web spider.
      In any case, I've never so many different animals in the wild, and that was really fun!
      Too bad I missed the ibises in Melbourne!

    🐓🦜🦅I’ve been to Australia twice and would really love to go back someday - Australia and New Zealand for sure. There’s so much to see. I do think traveling with someone makes sight-seeing much more enjoyable (and I don’t usually take long trips alone.) Earth has so many WONDERFUL places to see, but it’s always nice to be home again. And you live in a very exhilarating country as well so longing to return home is understandable. I’m happy to see you back on TH-cam. 💜🦜🐓🦅🦉

      I actually really enjoy travelling alone, as you can take as much or as little time as you prefer. I also just generally like being alone.
      Australia was really beautiful, that's certain. I bet New Zealand must be amazing as well!

    Hi, I spoke to you at the opening. I was the weirdo wearing all black (although to be fair that could describe half of Melbourne, haha).
    I was SO EMBARRASSED afterwards! One of my favourite artists, could have talked to you about anything, and there I am ranting about my fear of ticks! I was recovering from a big night & clearly brain was not working. Apologies!
    I agree Melbourne is not a very interesting city architecturally. It's all about the culture: food, live music, nightlife. It's a lot of fun after dark!
    Look forward to some potential bin chicken artwork :)

    • @stephanie.kilgast
      @stephanie.kilgast  ปีที่แล้ว

      no need to apologise! You were just nervous and I wasn't able to make you feel more at ease (though I did try!)
      I didn't get to see much of the living culture in Melbourne, but let's be honest, I'm not too much into night life either ^^'
      I miss Australia and its nature though, it's been on my mind frequently, what a beautiful country!

      short answer, quite disappointed with the handmade ones, the red is incredibly difficult to re-wet, might be a little older, I'm not sure. The black also isn't great for rewetting :(
