Great work on the video Robert! Pleased to have been selected as the final light for your bike. We set out to make the best light for the 450L/RL platform as these awesome bikes deserved better than what was available!

Awesome review. Thanks for putting time in to give all of us valuable info. I think I want to get a desert unlimited for both my bikes.

Nice content. Couple of suggestions fwiw for viewers. Standard practice for aiming headlights is First, 5’ away from flat wall. Aim lights for best illumination at about 36” high, even light distribution, marking center (brightest) point of light. Then, from 25-30’ away from (same Flat surface), adjust light back to brightest focus on previously marked ‘center’ (blue tape in first phase works).
    This gives properly AIMED light.
Then, using this method, one can determine which lighting option gives the Cleanest cut-off (top linear border). Most even light spread, without significant ‘dim’ areas in that light spread. As even as possible vertically, as well as horizontally.
    Hope that this helps others.
** for cars, trucks, etc. lay a towel or other item over one side of light to set the other (L : R), then opposite. Cannot effectively adjust side-by-side lights with Both shining on flat wall simultaneously.

You or anyone else can take the video for what it is. A riding video testing the lights.
The first portion of the video, while the bike was on the stand, I wasn’t even planning on doing until I saw the footage of how horrible the oem light was while riding.

Did you rewind your stator wattage ?

In the video the stator isn’t rewound. It’s rewound now and I using the Desert Unlimited XL80 as the only light on my bike. Info from desert unlimited is the stator doesn’t need to be rewound to run the light, except on high beam while the fan is running. I didn’t want to worry about that, so went with the rewind from Baja Designs.
