Uday Bhawalkar: Raag Shankara

This virtual concert by Pt. Uday Bhawalkar was performed and recorded on the occasion of Kishore Mariwala's partner Shalini's 80th birthday.
Panditji concluded the recital with an alap in Raag Shankara, which was followed by two beautiful bandishes entitled "Varoon Ri Mrig Dragan Ko" and "Pratham Adi Shiva Shakti" in Jhaptaal and Sooltaal both being 10-beat cycles.
He was supported by Sukhad Munde on pakhawaj. Tanpura support was provided by two of pandit-ji's young students Tanuja Pande and Meghana Sardar.
