Oh my. 40 grand for a lawyer? Wow. Those private creditors can be unrelenting. I owed $2600 when my first career ended. Computers wiped it out. Went back to college, became an RN, and the tax man took my paychecks for a few months. They ended up taking over 9 grand on that debt when I could have made an offer in compromise while in college and struggling. The rich do all the time. They will owe over 100 grand and pay less than 25 back, with an offer. I feel ya!

I’m taking 8mg of subutex daily trying to taper but also battling being a quadriplegic the subutex does help with pain and burning of the lower extremity’s so it’s been very difficult to taper. Anyway the tax man can be brutal. The government doesn’t forget.
