      Thanks Blake ! 🤗
      I think you should seriously consider getting one yourself 😇
      No, but seriously, it's one of those things that nobody really needs but is very nice to have. I will miss it on the other two bikes now, for sure !
      Hiding all of the wires is the only faff. If you have a free USB port on the bike, you won't even have to connect another lead to your battery to get it up and running.
      "Use the code EcoRides at checkout to get 22% discount or use the direct link provided in the video description." 😛😇
      Thanks Blake. It's staying on Norman now until something breaks, so we will all get to see how well it holds up over time. I think it should last well, personally. Looks well made.
      Cheers bud, keep taking things slowly until you feel 100% again !

      Hi Jeff. Well, I'm hoping that I will be able to see the trails better on the big screen. The thin grey lines were almost impossible to see on my phone screen. If I can see the trails better on the 6.25" screen, that would certainly be a big plus.
      Hoping to get out on a trail soon, just waiting for some decent weather. Haven't been out on a trail since we had the floods, which must have been the beginning of November or something ! Looking forward to chugging about on mountains again !

    I have the same product, and have been enjoying it. The only issue I personally encountered was that the screws provided to attach the cameras to the mounts were much too short. Thankfully, I had a box of screws and was able to find some that worked .

    • @economicalrides
      @economicalrides  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi there.
      Really ? Do you mean the short bolts that screw into the captive nut at the base of the camera mount to clamp it around the camera ?
      They seemed fine to me but I will check to make sure that they haven't come undone. Or do you mean the screws to hard mount the camera mount to something ? I did find those to be quite short and also not very sharp in their "self-tapping", which is why I ended up using the sticky pad option.
      I am pretty chuffed with how the unit works although in retrospect the addition of the two cameras has of course necessitated two further long wires to try to hide somewhere, which makes getting a tidy installation more difficult. I would probably have preferred a model without the dash cams because I don't really need them and that way I would have only had the power and remote control leads to deal with. The mess of wires that you have to hide does bother me a bit but with all of that functionality, of course it's inevitable.
      A nice unit though and if anybody needs something like this, it is hard to beat at its price point.
      Cheers mate 👍

    • @kurokubushi
      @kurokubushi 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @economicalrides It was the screws that were meant to screw into the nut to clamp it to the cameras. The ones I received weren't even long enough to go all the way though to be attacked to the nut.
      I personally got the device for the opposite reason, having a family member involved in a hit and run I was raised to install a camera system in order to record everything, and the navigation and car play features are just extras that make me enjoy the product more.

    • @economicalrides
      @economicalrides  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ Strange. I certainly didn’t have that problem with the unit supplied to me. Glad you managed to get it sorted 👍
      Yes. Depending where you live, a dash cam can be very useful but fortunately I’ve never really needed one here. So far at least 🤞
      Thanks for getting back to me ! 🙂👍

  • @exeterrider
    @exeterrider 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

    As you say the quality is OK for dashcam reasons.
    I have been considering one, but then again I won't really use it enough really.
    Dash cam could be handy though.
    You have me thinking now. Getting around France won't be an issue now. 👍

    • @economicalrides

      Hi Dave,
      use the discount code EcoRides at checkout or simply use the affiliate link provided in the video description to get a 22% discount and a free SD card with your order 😇
      One of these would work well on the NC or the Beemer I reckon.
      But since those are the two bikes you probably ride least, it might be a bit OTT.
      It would make more sense on the Meaty really ( giving you the security of having a dash cam in the Exmouth traffic cut and thrust ) but might spoil the looks of the bike.
      But at the price, you can't really go wrong and if you have a USB port, the whole lot can be moved from bike to bike without too much difficulty.
      I am genuinely impressed by the quality of the unit and how it does everything so well for the price.
      Looking forward to seeing how the screen copes with the Spanish summer sun and also how all of the bits and bobs hold up to the beatings they will get out on the trails.
      If you've got a space for it, one of these probably would add something to the Beemer or NC.
      Cheers Dave, love to the Exmouth crew,
      Garry & Ruby

      Hi George. Do you have a TRK ? It would definitely suit that, nice bike. I did briefly consider buying one myself ( instead of the Himalayan ) but the dealer was having a laugh. He made me a "special offer" on his ex-demo bike which was above the RRP for a brand new one ( but lower than what he was selling new ones for, obviously ). !!! At least my RE dealer puts all of his REs up at RRP and even throws in freebies with every bike sold at that price ! Some dealers eh ? No wonder so many are struggling. Maybe try not ripping people off and see how that goes ?!?!?!
      Anyway, enough ranting, yes, I liked the Benelli.
      If you do decide to buy a C6 Pro, I would greatly appreciate it if you would use my link and discount code. That way Aoocci will at least realise that people watch my channel. I've already secured one sale by the way, which came as a great relief to me !
      Somebody here mentions the reflections on the screen being excessive. I have to say that to the naked eye, the screen has always been legible to me, I think the camera captured the reflections which I couldn't see from where I was sitting. I will be interested to see how the screen performs on a sunny summer afternoon but I am pretty confident that it could be adjusted to a position where any problem could be mitigated.
      I shall leave the special allen key in Norman's tail pack, just in case I ever have to adjust the position of the screen out on the road. It would be a two minute job, piece of cake !
      Cheers George,
      Garry

      @@economicalrides Hi Garry, It's a Leoncino Trail, and I wish I had got the standard version as the Trail version is a bit taller. The height, in addition to the awkward placement of the footpegs, makes me feel unsettled on the bike, so I've only ridden it @170 miles in a year and a half. Still, I've resolved to get it out and get used to it this year. If I get the C6 Pro I will definitely use the ER code!

      I hope you get out on it more this year. As you do ride more regularly you will slowly start to gain confidence, I'm sure. Good luck with it 👍
      It's a shame that my nearest Benelli dealer tried to rip me off, they are making some nice bikes at sensible prices ! But I won't be buying anything off that bloke, that's for sure !
      As for the C6 pro, if you do decide to get one and use my code, that would be excellent of you ! Thanks George !

    I find mine works Ok plugged in to my Mac Studio, so planning to plug it in to the USB and have just about worked out all the bits now. I'm the ideal test guinea pig as if I can do it, ANY eejiit can... Weather's been too cold and inclement for fiddling with bikes here, so instead I have spent a glorious day on Bodmin Moor enjoying the snow at a Neolithic Stone Circle with various cameras, but that's for the other channel😉

    • @economicalrides
      @economicalrides  18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Sounds like a great way to spend a day Andy. NOT ! 😛
      I had the same problem getting these videos done. Since I have no indoor space to work on bikes, I needed two consecutive days of decent weather to get the stuff fitted and get all of the filming done.
      Out of frustration I filmed part one well n advance as I was waiting for the weather to improve.
      Still, we got it done in the end and the unit is staying on the bike, so we'll see how it holds up over time.
      I think that the unit should work fine with any USB port now. I imagine that is why they've started including the USB cable as an alternative power supply option. Previously they didn't because they knew that the unit had issues with certain USB ports. I have one USB power bank which causes the unit to continuously reboot. Clearly it can't sustain the current ( I'm guessing ) that this unit draws over USB. My other two USB power banks have no issue running the unit. I think amps are going to be the issue. As far as I am aware, all USB ports deliver 5V. But the amp draw that they can tolerate varies. Any port designed to fit on a motorcycle should be pretty generous in regard to max amps permitted I would imagine. I think you should be alright running it over USB 👍
      Cheers Andy, and Chillers

      Ruby is now very excited for me to receive a demo unit of Aoocci's new on-bike "sossidge" dispenser.
      I have spoken to Aoocci R&D about it and they seem to think that there isn't going to be much of a market for it.
      I shall have to break the news to Ruby very gently. She was hoping that when I get back from my rides, I can let her out, press a button on the handlebar and a "sossidge" falls out of the end of the handlebar, right into her gaping mouth 🤷‍♂️
      Norman doesn't mind lugging the new tablet about as long as it doesn't start draining his battery. He says that is where he draws the line 😛

      Hi William. The reflections are only in the GoPro footage because the camera is set at a certain angle. From where I was sat, the screen was always clear because I've set it at the right angle for my rider's eye view.
      I will be interested to see if it is bright enough when the sun is behind me on a summer's afternoon though. It could become hard to read then but we will find out in due course !
      Cheers William, thanks for taking the time to watch, even though you probably wouldn't be interested in buying one 🙂 At least I included Ruby this time to make it more worthwhile 😛❤️🐕

      @economicalrides  18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Exactly. Not all of us are BMW owners and not all of us are prepared to lay out the cash for a "toy" which is required to buy a Chigee.
      Those of us who are a bit more budget conscious can now have similar functionality on our bikes for a fraction of the price, thanks to Aoocci.
      They really have made an excellent product, have continually improved it where it has been criticised in the past and in the current version it is just about perfect. It represents a heck of a lot of functionality for your money.
      The screen reflections were not visible to me. I have set the screen at an angle to reduce reflections from my perspective. Since the GoPro is set in a completely different position at a different angle, reflections are visible. For me the screen had always been clearly visible and reflections haven't been an issue. I question whether the screen will be bright enough on a Spanish summer afternoon but time will tell !
      If you take the special allen key with you on the bike, you can always adjust the angle of the unit in about two minutes, should it ever be necessary. It's really not a problem.
      I'm blown away by how well rounded this product is for the price. I have zero complaints !
      Cheers,
      Garry

      It's not something I ever considered putting on any of my bikes but when they offered to send me one, I decided that I would be interested to see what it's all about. It's really not complicated to use, if you can operate your smartphone. It's nice to have tyre pressure monitoring and dash cams ( particularly if you ride a lot in traffic ) and the CarPlay stuff is an added bonus, mainly because you then get a nice big screen to display Google Maps from your phone. It's okay and certainly worth the money. But I don't think that a classic looking bike would look right with a big screen on it. You need a touring or ADV bike for this sort of thing really.
