Oh how I just love this song from the summer of '64. Thank you, Keith Colley, for the melody and lyrics.

I laid in bed last night with this song playing in my head. I have no idea what spurred it. I just barely remembered the song, but there it was!!

Me too. They play basically songs you just don't hear anymore.

Peets Coffee in Long Beach California today was featuring "San Sebastian" Coffee. That triggered a flash memory of a song I thought was "Brother Sebastian" but this is actually it. (Most of the lyrics I remembered accurately). This is the first time I've heard the song with something better than AM radio sound. But after hearing it again I now know why I remembered it. It's a memorable song! Whoever wrote it knew something about harmonly and instrumentation. A lot of very ugly music was written back in those days and at the moment that's what is mostly remembered. But with youtube and the internet, there's hope.

On the charts around August 1964. Although a NYC group, not a NYC hit. Got more airplay in the Midwest.

This one charted in Chicago, but WLS radio DJ's said the Ramblers were college kids from Loyola University in the city...their team was the Ramblers!

I don't remember them saying that, but I was only 9 years old at the time, so you could be correct.

Have you ever come across their "Poor Little Ole Me" (Almont 300 A) from 1963? I had it once and have tried over the years to replace it.
