Peets Coffee in Long Beach California today was featuring "San Sebastian" Coffee. That triggered a flash memory of a song I thought was "Brother Sebastian" but this is actually it. (Most of the lyrics I remembered accurately). This is the first time I've heard the song with something better than AM radio sound. But after hearing it again I now know why I remembered it. It's a memorable song! Whoever wrote it knew something about harmonly and instrumentation. A lot of very ugly music was written back in those days and at the moment that's what is mostly remembered. But with youtube and the internet, there's hope.

Heard this on oldies station KFXM in California for the first time today, perfect song from the wonderful 60s.

On the charts around August 1964. Although a NYC group, not a NYC hit. Got more airplay in the Midwest.

This one charted in Chicago, but WLS radio DJ's said the Ramblers were college kids from Loyola University in the city...their team was the Ramblers!
