I have never forgotten these! My favourites are Phantom Menace, Force Commander and Rebel Assault 1+2, I play them all the time. Their dedication and commitment to the true spirit of Star Wars is great, they feel so authentic. Also the humour in phantom menace is just gold :D

Force Commander is criminally underrated. Everyone only remembers it from always being mentioned as a "bad" RTS that came out before Empire at War, but I think very few people actually played it. Galactic Battlegrounds was great, too.
Fun fact: The Phantom Menace game lets you kill pretty much everyone you come across in-game, including little kids in Mos Eisely. If you do that, everyone either refuses to talk with you or tries to kill you, but it's surprising how a Phantom Menace game is one of the only video games that lets you kill children!

Lethal Alliance is also an amazing one to consider, such an underrated game. Was on PSP. And then Rogue Squadron on Gamecube those games were bangers. One of the best I'd played at the time apart from Republic Commando, Battle Front and KOTOR. Subbed.

I really enjoyed the world of the Avatar game Ubisoft Massive put out even if I didn’t love the gameplay so if they can bring that level of detail to a Star Wars game I’ll be hooked! I actually just brought Jedi Knight 2 and I loved academy. I really wish we had a game similar to it for more modern platforms. Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor are the closest I can think of, hopefully the 3rd game brings more of the RPG elements to it. Have you played the recent Jedi game?

I still remember playing that third rebel assault level for hours as a kid. My friend also had that game and couldnt beat it so he called me over to do it for him lmao. I actually liked that level because i liked the ship

@@Anxious-Ben The very first level was you flying Beggar's Canyon in a T-16 that had the same FMV shenanigans, with the added issue that if you flew too high while whipping about then you had to start over because it was interpreted as your character chickening out and flying out of the canyon. Hoth was brutal too because you flew through ice caves. I'm pretty sure *most* Rebel Assault deaths were due to environmental collisions and wonky FMV controls. 😅

Why didn't Jedi Power Battles get added to all the stuff on Playstation? I remember being like 5 or 6 playing that on PS1, when Plo Koon actually had an orange lightsaber.

Bounty Hunter was my childhood, sadly i could never get past the Prison level from how difficult it was. The Phantom Menace game i played also as a kid the PC version, and the Pod Racer game i got to play a version of it in the arcade. Where you sit in a life size Pod Racer seat and use the levers to steer while a huge ass screen is infront of you

@@Anxious-Ben I remember it being very immersive, felt like i was in the movie. The screen and speakers they had used for it were perfect, and the thrusters on the one i got to play still felt nice and weighty to move around, definitely recommend if you get the chance to play.
Seeing Rebel Assault 2 brought back so many memories. You actually prompted me to go back and watch an entire play through. I didn’t even remember beating it until I watched the final mission, but I do remember the flying sections. What made it even worse than you described was when you had a shooting section after the flying section, as your health did not regenerate. You had to fly without taking too much damage because you had to have enough health to survive the shooting sections. The cherry on top is that your crosshairs also moved the ship slightly as it was being controlled by the camera, so you had to balance shooting TIE fighters and turrets with putting your cursor at the corners of the screen to dodge asteroids and other obstacles at the same time, all while the camera continued on a linear line. I’m looking back and I can’t believe I beat it

@@Anxious-Ben Chapters 12 and 15, The Sewers and Indaar Alpha respectively, are two I remember very well. The Sewers is an on-rails shooter that involves storm troopers appearing directly in front of you that don’t take damage until after their movement animation is complete. Doesn’t sound terrible, but you have enemies sometimes coming in 3 at a time from different directions and you can’t hit any of them for a solid second, and the second you are able to hit them, they’ve already hit you twice. It’s really tough. Indaar Alpha is the final mission and it stands out because it’s essentially a ship shooting section that is also an obstacle course. You need to get to the end of the level and these big metal arms that move other TIE fighters around the facility are swinging all over the place and you have to move your crosshairs up and down to duck over and under them as they move, all while you’re being shot at. It’s a memory game, the same arm moves the same direction each time. The hardest one for me ironically was technically a training mission, “TIE Training”. You’re flying around a canyon in a TIE fighter, no enemies but you have to dodge a lot of boulders and rock bridges. The visuals of that mission were really cool, but everything you said about the Falcon mission applies here but a lot worse. Even without enemies that mission was incredibly difficult

@@Anxious-Ben Do it! Idk what it is about this game but it definitely has some charm to it, it’s just absurdly difficult if you’re doing it on hard mode. You’ll probably ping-pong all over the canyon. But, honestly I have good memories from this game. If you do, play the console port if you can. It was made after the PC port and things like the Falcon are actually a lot slimmer and easier to maneuver. The TIE mission might also be easier, though I never played the PC port so I can’t confirm.

Not sure about PS version but on the PC version of RA2 you can change the hitbox size for your shots. Instead of shooting one TIE Fighter you can take out several at a time. As 12 year old kids my buddy and I thought that was hysterical.

Boy, if you like the fact that you could kill this Neimoidian, you would have the time of your life if you continued the Episode I game. In a later level, you can kill a mother and/or her son and tell them afterwards. When you get to Mos Espa, you can go on a rampage as Qui-Gon and kill litterally everyone in the city, lol. This game made the main characters from the movie look like unhinged psychos, hahaha.

I have Clone Wars for the GameCube, which actually predated the Clone Wars series that aired on the Cartoon Network (and later Netflix and Disney+) It was a pretty good game, not great. I also have Republic Heroes for Wii which was based on the above-mentioned series. It was fun. There was another Wii game that was about lightsaber duels or something, never played that one, but I heard it was bad.

The Tattooine levels were my favorite in episode 1 for Playstation I still play it every now and again

I spent so much time on rebel assault 2, I hated the flight of milleium falcon one. I had to change my keyboard options in 1997

Boy, if you like the fact that you could kill this Neimoidian, you would have the time of your life if you continued the Episode I game. In a later level, you can kill a mother and/or her son and tell them afterwards. When you get to Mos Espa, you can go on a rampage as Qui-Gon and kill litterally everyone in the city, lol. This game made the main characters from the movie look like unhinged psychos, hahaha.

@@Anxious-Ben Not sure which Clone Wars game you mean. I have Clone Wars for the GameCube, which actually predated the Clone Wars series that aired on the Cartoon Network (and later Netflix and Disney+) It was a pretty good game, not great. I also have Republic Heroes for Wii which was based on the above-mentioned series. It was fun. There was another Wii game that was about lightsaber duels or something, never played that one, but I heard it was bad.
