Thank you, this was helpful as I'm planning to use the Eurostar this year, for the first time in ages. The last time I went, the terminal was at Waterloo. That's funny you say to avoid getting a table seat because it means having to face a stranger the whole journey. In the 1980s, practically all seats in UK trains were like that, so I had a real phobia about train travel. I thought it was just me, because no one else seemed to mind it at all.

@@RonanandAlex I've just subscribed. I wonder if you need a smartphone to travel by Eurostar to Brussels and other places in Europe? I noticed that this last year, it wasn't possible to print out train tickets at home on Trainline for UK train journeys. The tickets either had to be on a smartphone or printed out at the station. This gave me some doubts, as I'd be a bit wary of trying to print out tickets at a machine at a foreign train station.

@@keithbessant No need for a smartphone, if your purchase your ticket from the "National" Provider they give you the option usually of printing, if not St Pancras at the eurostar desk can sell any tickets on the former Thalys which is now eurostar 😀

FYI this is a Siemens unit which has I believe has 16 coaches. The original Alstom sets were 18 coaches.

I don’t suppose you know if certain times are busier than others and which would be the best time to start boarding .
    I’m thinking early morning 6ish ?

Eurostar gets you from city center to city center. Security is more efficient than flying. You can bring more liquids. The seating is more comfortable. When you factor in the time to get to the airport that’s usually 30 minutes outside of a city, security, checking luggage, and then taking transportation to your destination in the other city, the train wins every time.

Good video but audio is very bad despite your mics. Please try to speak up and clearly.
