      Why? He has been speaking About it since day one, the past 10 years or so He has had very in debt interviews about his life, just click on some interviews His life was so interesting and full, before, during and after becoming Hasidic and then his spiritual personal form of Judaism He has now.

    So nice to hear Matisyahu share some of his journey with such poise and nuance. Also very impressed with the interviewers who on at least one occasion managed to not cut him off while he patiently attempted to respond to their obnoxious questions. 🙏

      Cringed so hard when one of them asked "so are you trying to write another hit song?" Worst thing to ask any kind of artist. Basically asking why if he's not trying to be good for the last 15+ years of his life. You can tell Matisyahu sort of bristled at that, as he should.

    This was 🔥 COMPLETE FIRE 🔥!!!!! Great interview guys!!!! I love Matisyahu’s soul so very much! I love that he continues to put himself out there for the world so candidly. He is so grounded and peaceful. It’s refreshing to see and hear realness in this world full of the opposite being thrown in our faces continuously. I cannot thank y’all enough for this gift of an interview. Y’all have a talent, drawing out what’s in people and we get to reap the benefit of that gift and learn on a deeper level about the world and incredible humans in it. Thank you!! ❤

    I’d like to see Matisyahu tour with Nahko and Medicine for the people. That would be a spiritual experience on another level. If we love anything more than we love God we set up idols in our life. It’s a constant daily examining of our mind, heart and soul and tearing down anything that try’s to gain a foothold. It sounds like work but it’s more liberating and totally worth it! It’s like revealing the bulb of an onion. God helps us peel back the layers of the onion to expose the bulb and each layer we allow him to peel back the more light he exposes. It’s not only for our benefit but for those around us.

  • @skontheroad

    Wagner is likely the composer he was thinking of (when talking about his meeting in Cleveland).
    And the janitor or custodian of a shul is called a "Shamas", which is also what we call the candle on a Menorah that is used to light the other candles each night of Chanukah.
    My first time here. I found Matisyahu very interesting. He was visiting once and was asked to daven for the amud. Everyone was so excited as he was approaching the Bima. He gets up there and doesn't sing ONE word. Nothing! Not even during Kedushah! 😢😅
    I don't know who produces for them, but the sound issues and keeping everyone on track and from talking over one another should really be the producers' job.

    The look in his eyes, the sound of his voice, his body language, clothing, shoes and language is NOT the same and it shows. Singing King Without A Crown in capris and green hair really doesn’t cut. The Spirit is the Spirit and something is missing. 🙃
    In my opinion the most important part of this entire video came at minute 1:20:20 when he began to say that he I’m glad “someone” is holding it down because “somebody” has to. There is A LOT in that statement.

  • @courtcounselor

    So surprised at the reasons he went OTD. I'm not shiner mitzvos but always trying to do more. What I always try and remember is not to blame Jews when judging Judaism. So talented but so influenced by bad people. So sorry. What happened to his Frum family. I recall him having a Frum wife who stood by him for a long while. I hope his kids stayed within the kehilla. Wishing you all well.... B"H

    • @Rebnooch
      @Rebnooch ปีที่แล้ว +2

      According to Halachah, one is supposed to dispose of/ destroy their nails as they have a negative tumah associated with them. Chassidim tended to burn the nails, and it became common practice to collect them all year and burn them with the chometz.

      @@fraidygreen5604 Here's a quote from OU Torah - The Gemara (Nidah 17a) emphasizes the importance of properly discarding ones nail clippings. The reason that the Gemara gives is that a pregnant woman who steps on a nail clipping is in danger of a miscarriage. Accordingly, the Gemara adds that, “One who burns his nails is a chassidd, one who buries them is a tzadik, and one who throws them on the floor in a public place is a Rasha.” This teaching is codified by many later-day authorities including the Mishnah Berurah (260:6).
