the story is depicting a post war trauma of a society from which even a prostitute suffers. the story goes on to show how bad it was by showing a life of a prostitute, who is in mental dilemma, because of social and financial crisis. although she is in such business she still celebrates and respects muharram her customers a't re broke and she can't afford to feed herself. a hindu man then enters her dull and depressing life she being in such a pity state offers him her body in exchange of a mere black fabric. he takes advantage of both women one wanting the earring and other the fabric in exchange for fornication and flees.

Tarkashe manto the old one was much much better. This sultana is doing too much over acting and there is negative shades in her character while the one in old kaali salwar moon moon Singh was brilliant and beautiful.
