  • In part eight, Twiggy talks to Nick Knight about working with David Bowie, why Bowie wasn't your typical rock 'n' roll star, how her appearance on the cover of his 1973 record 'Pin Ups' came to be and staying in control of the camera.

    Iconic album cover. Nick, would love to see you speak about the process and inspiration on some of your iconic album covers as well (Bjork, Seal, Sakamoto, Bowie, Massive Attack etc.).

    I got this album on CD last year in Ukraine, they still have CD shops.

    No mention of Pierre LaRoche for the exquisite makeup. Interesting also that Twiggy remembers Vogue refusing to use the shot whereas all other sources have the opposite take with Vogue being furious that Bowie trumped them by using it as the album cover.

      @cornelius washington the photographer was the brilliant Justin De Villeneuve who was Twiggy's manager/boyfriend at the time

    I like her laugh. I'm unfamiliar with him. He has a resemblance to Frank Langella. I think.
