    Hey Stealth! The reason the preble didn't change course is because it was assigned to engage the fleeing surface vessels. In order to get it to disengage, you've gotta tell it to cease fire, the bottom option on the pop-up menu. I've been loving the content so far, man. Keep it up.

    That Udaloy really got it's moneys worth out of the Defensive ECM installation.
    I've never seen D-ECM this effective before. I wonder if the mod creator increased the level of the crew.

    Played this mission last night. I got everyone out unharmed. Took out most of the northern ship formation with the sub. The landing formation was taken out with the US fleet's missiles. The Udoloy closed and swatted off all the Harpoons thrown at it. I finally got it with a Standard missile, then two torpedoes.

      There also must be some randomness to where the sub spawns, because in my run it started closer to the AWACs.

      I keep forgetting that the Standard Missile can also double as an anti ship missile. Is it any more or less effective than a harpoon?

      @ It hit. I don’t think it is more powerful, but it seemed faster.
      Edit: It is much shorter range as well.

    The harpoons sent for the freighter are coded to stop turning down after the jump once they detect something. Since the Grisha was directly behind the freighter, it was at a higher angle, and the missiles detected it first!

    Thanks for these great videos. I’m will leaning my way around this game and I love it. It’s the slow pace of setting up and planning followed by (in my case) blind panic and tension rarely seen in games these days. Kudos to the devs.

    I love how at the very end, the only Soviet ship still considered afloat was the poor T-43K that absorbed four SM-1s

    Well, Udaloy has SA-N-9, the naval version of the Tor sam, that was specifically designed to shoot down missiles, pretty expected for me
    P.S. I saw "Defensive ECM" is ship's cards, probably Udaloy has really good jammer that fools missels? It also was facing missiles, so it's RCS was quite small, which also helped, I guess

    I wonder if it would have been more effective to launch a salvo of two Harpoons from each ship at the Udaloy, so that there are more missiles coming in at the same time

    I really hope they make a campaign like ultimate admiral dreadnoughts. Not the same but something close to that. Where u start out at 1949 . Abd progress to get better missles and hulls and new ships that u have add different missles to them. It would be do cool if that did a campaign like that. It's would be so cool

      I expect the campaign to be similar to Cold Waters. So you'd get to choose a task force and do missions as they are given.

    Udaloy is a quite modern ship, which means it has VLS cells for its AA missiles. Tough target. I wonder if it also has particularly good ECM that was spoofing your Harpoons...

    Oh, I just thought of a very twisted idea for a mod. Turn a cargo carrier into a large missile platform with the top being a disguise to hide it large number of vertical launch or near vertical launch weapons. It will not register as anything but a cargo carrier until it drops the disguise and turns on its weapons systems.
    It would be armed with a mixture of anti-ship missile, interceptors, and anti-air missiles. It will even have a hidden radar array that it will deploy once it goes into battle mode. As a cargo carrier, it will look innocent and defenseless when traveling in a convoy but once an enemy gets close it can surprised them with its weapons. This would likely be a NATO vessel meant as a experimental vessel to counter Soviet missile capabilities by catching them off guard and it will have potential Electronic Warfare capabilities.

      Aside from SS-N-19 launch systems and a couple of Soviet SAM systems (S-300 Forts on the Slava-class and Kirovs, I believe, and then the Kinzhal systems carried for self defense by the Udalois) VLS systems weren't really a thing during the relevant time period. You might be better off having concealed launchers in fold-open shipping containers.

      @@taiko1237 Angular launch tubes that rotate do work if you basically have the shipping crates on deck be nothing more than props that house them. I am not sure when this game is supposed to go up to in terms of date but I think that the US Navy did make Ticonderoga-class ships in late 1986 that used VLS systems.
      I think one of the first of that Class to have that setup was the USS Bunker Hill (CG-52) but I could be wrong.

      @@dragonslayer2107 The first Ticonderogas (which are in game) had twin-arm launchers for SM-2MR missiles fore and aft. Presumably the game is set in 1980-1985 (the launch trailer has 1980 as the date) so just before the introduction of the Mark 41 Mod.0 VLS system that the later Ticos carried.

      @@taiko1237 there has been 1 or 2 missions so far post 1986 and one of them even had a tico but the one that was there was one of the first 5 built that only had the twin launchers and not VLS, Im wondering if we will ever see VLS ticos in the game or not.

    Udaloy has very capable anti air missiles. Short range, yes, but quite modern and in rapid fire VLS

    I think some of ships have jammers that are active to. I think they’re just turned on, and you don’t have a system that represents when they are active

    Played this mission, the tanker ate 3 torps and 4 missiles before finally going down, limped into the zone half under water

      No, enemies react to your attacks and will dynamically attack you based on its understanding of the circumstances. It's not ChatGPT advanced but it's dynamic enough to keep things fresh for now.

      The Farragut class is the Coontz class. The class just has 2 names. Kind of how the Royal Sovereign class was also called the Revenge class

      Coontz class was named after the first as built DDG version of the Farragut class

      Uhhh no. They do exist. people who call them the Coontz class call them that because USS Coontz was the first to be designed and built as a guided-missile ship. The other 3 ships of the class built before USS Coontz were built as gunships before being converted.

      ​​@@Soundy48The first three ships weren't even laid down as gun armed ships, let alone built as them, they were ordered as gun-armed ships in FY56, but the decision to change them to missile ships was made in 1956, with the first ships not being laid down until 1957, after the decision to switch designs.
