"And if you look out the window on the right side of the aircraft, you can see the Naval Battle of Sandakan taking place..." *- The pilot of that one airliner, probably*
Looking back on the other Pacific Strike missions, and Iowa class BB would've been incredibly useful, especially with the one in that had a strait guarded by a submarine and artillery emplacements.
Thank u for early content as always. I hope they buff guns on ships it feels like the 127mm American guns dont do much . I know there a missle game but hopefully they make guns better. At times they seem to not do much damage. Its awesome seeing 406mm shells coming in .2800 pound shells iirc
Yea, I tried to get rid of an oil platform yesterday with 152 and 127mm guns. Yes I was quite far away, but the ships just didn't hit the target. Sometimes one shell hit, but did basically nothing to the platform. It was really dissapointing. Not hitting a moving ship - okay, but going 1/3, and shooting at a stationary target should net a lot more hits.
I really hope the developers work on the air to air AI. Any scenario that involves large scale air to air engagements are almost unplayable in my opinion. I had F-14’s flying in formation with a TU-16 bomber and wouldn’t engage it because they were RTB.
They are, but I did notice presentation and context increase the awe one experiences. Iowa is in the Port of Los Angeles and is nearby the cruise ships and port cranes that make the ship look smaller. Wisconsin is next to the Nauticus Museum and looks absolutely monumental as you look directly at the bow.
I hope this game, combined with the workshop, gives a proper progression. Or some heavy UI assistance like plotting of air and surface capabilities so that you don't need all the background knowledge in order to set up screen. But if they do, so that you can ease into it with low intensity scenarios, then this will be definitely belong in my steam library. Or high intensity but few units.
Have you tried the Mod mission 'Temper Temper'? I do not think it is possible, but try and prove me wrong (No, honestly, I think whoever made it made it impossible. It's driving me mad for such a simple mission!)
I have problems with this mission, the biggest one being when game starts the enemy radar and ASM site spawn immediately on the sea surface direct south of the landing group.
Yes, this issue with land units not spawning correct locations is being actively investigated with the development team... it is a bug with the game and not with the missions
I haven't purchased this game but am interested. One thing I'm finding annoying is how some of the voice announcements seem kind of buggy. E.g., "bulldog away, track, track" why say "track" twice? Or "vampire, bearing-" but there's no bearing. Are these recognized as problems by the community and devs?
The "track track" is because they're trying to say 2 lines at ones. Don't know if they're on the list of priorities of the devs. You can check their discord for that
A ship a quarter of a century older, refitted to carry effectively the same CIWS battery as a Kirov and defensive ECM in addition to the flak battery it already had, and aided by another ship with short-range SAMs (which I believe shot down at least one of the Harpoons), its own CIWS and flak? While impressive it doesn't seem totally unreasonable to me.

Love that you are playing through the campaign, one of the best of the Workshop content so far.
406 better known as the 16 Inch Gun. Finally got to USS New Jersey completing my visit to all four Iowa class Battleships.
Nice
Nice, ive only been on the new jersey and the Wisconsin
@@sharkk127 For Iowa you just need to get to Long Beach. I got a tour of Missouri in Pearl Harbor while she active.
Nice job! An excellent goal! And yes, if one is to play as an American, y’all better get right with the 16 inch terminology.

@22:20 2d billboard trees. A common method for getting tons of foilage for very little render cost.
7 minutes in and if that plane is indeed an airliner, those pilots must be damn nervous flying over a rather large marine engagement.
they became collateral damage when I played this mission 😅
it wasn't 17 assault ships, it was the 17th marine amphibious unit (MAU)
Ah my bad
24:33 They sent gifts too early for Christmas and too late for Sinterklaas day.

Not the first time I've seen the AAW side of this game needing to be micro-managed.
dude says he wants to make sure that he can see incoming missiles so he turns on all radars on the boats
AWACS: Am I a joke to you?
Would not want to be that Harrier pilot flying around with supersonic Volkswagen bugs flying by.

I saw up and close the sister ship to the Iowa, the Missouri, very impressive ship.

T-72's being Rare?
more like Well Done courtesy USS Iowa!
Museum Ships series is fun. Lots of asymmetric fights.

Heyy it's Sandakan, my grandparent house is in Sandakan.❤
Another superb video!
Tarawa-class ships were not capable of handling F-14s.
Pretty sure the F-14s came from an off map carrier or airfield and are just providing aircover to the landing force.
@@adamtruong1759he tried to rebase the f-14's on the tarawa. That's what the other person was referring to
How are the onshore Styx firing if their radar has been destroyed?

that was fun. nice job
what's the lore about sabah here
Any idea if they're going to add helicopter dropped anti ship torps?
Don't think you'd want to. That means the ship will have shot you down. There are a few mods that add helicopter-launched anti-ship missiles

I dont get it why your AV8 have AGM-45 instead CBU Cluster, and last time i saw on NEO your AV8 had Exocet instead of MK83
You can deploy them outfit with different load outs. Shrike is in the SEAD loadout as it is an ARM.
@thetrainshop how to do that?
is it online based game?
Is it just me that is disturbed by the fact that the Harpoon can't kill a ship that is 1/4 of a century older without using overwhelming numbers? 😑

They are NOT '406's' but 16 inchers. Just like 'TORPS' you got that wrong and it is showing.
16" are 406mm
Don't think the guy is American so cut him some slack ;)
If I want to use metric I'll use metric. That doesn't make it wrong. It makes it different from your point of view. Don't like it, don't watch
That's incredibly petty, since they're basically the same thing.
The game shows them as 406mm as well.
