  • In this vlog discover with me Vila Joiosa and Alicante in Spain
I'll show you around the city, the Santa Cruz district, the Esplanade d'Espagne and Mount El Tossal
    Vila Joiosa / Villa Joyosa
This old fishing village once lived from fishing but also from chocolate because there were quite a few industries established here.
Today the village lives mainly from tourism.
It is very easy to access thanks to the direct Tram from Alicante (50 minutes journey)
This village has many colorful buildings, particularly along the large beach which borders it.
The historic heart is not very big but is worth a visit.
I highly recommend you take a look there.
    Alicante
After visiting the historic Santa Cruz district, head towards the water's edge where you will find the "Parque de Canalejas" park with countless century-old trees with incredible roots.
Then continue the walk heading towards the square "Plaza de Canalejas" you will then arrive on the promenade "Explanada de España"
You will walk on cobblestones arranged in the shape of waves bordered on each side by immense palm trees, it is very lively in the evening.
At the very end turn to the right you will then find the astonishing statue of Icar, the surfer walking on the water (by the artist Esperanza d’Or)
You can then continue the walk along the water on the “Paseo de los Mártires de la Libertad”
If you don't have time to climb to the heights of Mount "El Tossal" it doesn't matter because there is nothing exceptional (the view from Mount Benacantil is more beautiful)
On the other hand, I strongly advise you to visit the surrounding villages “Vila Joiosa” and “Altea” as well as the island of Tabarca.
These 3 places are very easy to access from Alicante.
I visit them in my next vlog
