We should have our own dedicated data analysts in every division of Government of India. The problem of western bias is not new and the one way to counter them is through transparent data policy and regular reporting.
Most of the UN and related global bodies have unfortunately fallen into the coffins of China and USA. They are trying to set the precedent in case of ESG which will become a norm in coming years. We should counter this.

But even our indices tend to falter, take for example, the NIRF ranking of HEIs in India, the major part of the problem turns up when institutions with very mediocre actual performance wind up themselves in top rankings...How do we justify this?

Sir, we make all good Laws. But when it comes to enforcing of the Law, very many pulls and pushes from all corners start dampening the spirit of Law. Besides making strong Laws, an independent, unbiased, non-corruptible Body to enforce the same has to be brought into existence. For example we have stringent laws to punish committers of Rape, Rape and Murder, the most heinous crime being commited in a Civilised Society. Inspite of it, there is news applenty in all medias. The Laws are burried when enforcement of Law fails for whatever reason. When this is the case inrespect of serious crimes the other cases are sailing under the carpet smilingly.

    Sir
I think some of our Think tanks liks IIMs, IITs should also start publishing such ESG norms data
If they can be self-proclaimed God, why can't be we ?
