happy dashian brother.. what a handsome man looking more handsome with red tika and jamara only thing missing is Dhaka Topi its a Nepalese Tradional cap. Thanks to Bharat dai family, what an amazing hospitality to our guest. Namaste and enjoy alot❤
WOW brother! Happy Dashain - the celebration of good over evil. Watching your video has made me so happy because I have seen you experience the true heart and generosity of the Nepalese people and the unique vibes of a Nepali Dashain celebration. To me this is the perfect example of the beautiful Nepali culture: Bharat didn't know you; you were just a stranger walking in the street and yet you were invited to his home to join in as part of his family for the most important celebration of the year. (I'm sure this would rarely happen on the streets of Brussels or in Europe or America). It seems you were blessed by the spirit of Dashain . Nepal is full of good vibes at this time of the year. And did you know you also brought a blessing (or good luck) for Bharat and his family, because Nepalis believe that a visitor should be treated like a god and it is their privilege and honour to have the chance to invite a visitor or stranger into their home and make him or her feel welcome. And also they will have fun telling their friends and family about the very wet Belgian vlogger who came to their house for Dashain Usually by Dashain time the monsoon is over in Nepal, (damn climate change!) although Pokhara usually gets more rain than Kathmandu. The rain will clear up in a day or two and the air will be fresh and clean with warm sunny days. But the rain can also be thought of as a blessing as it comes from Indra the goddess of rain, And in your case you could say it was a blessing from goddess Indra because if it wasn't raining you would have visited Barahi temple and not had the chance to meet Bharat and his family and take part in this very special family celebration. You will get to visit Barahi temple later I’m sure when you take a boat ride on Fewa Tal (Lake Fewa). The tika is made from rice and yoghurt and the red colour comes from powdered sindoor, known as vermillion in English. (red is a very auspicious colour in Hinduism). The grass or sprouts that are put behind the ear is called Jamara. It is usually the sprouts of the barley plant (or can also be maize or rice). 10 days earlier the seeds were blessed and planted in a special small pot called a Kalash and then left in a darkened room to germinate and sprout. Because it is kept in the dark, it has the pale green- yellowish colour. For many Nepali families this will be one of the few days in the year when they eat meat as a family meal - especially in the villages. Actually, the "mutton" that you ate is goat meat and not sheep meat. They rarely eat sheep meat in Nepal. For me I prefer the taste of goat meat to sheep meat or what Europeans call mutton. Brother if you enjoyed celebrating Dashain, you will also love Bhai Tika festival. The sisters will honour and bless their brothers with a special multi-coloured tika that is put in a vertical line from the top of the forehead to the top of the nose and also give a small gift of fruit and sweets. In return the brothers will give the sisters a small gift of money. You can give whatever you can afford or like as it is really the gesture of giving that is more important than the amount you give. But as you've probably realised everyone is a “brother” or “sister” in Nepal. So if you are lucky you may meet a Nepali and have a conversation about the Bhai Tika festival and then get invited to a family's house to take part in the Tika ceremony. I hope you do. You will then be a true “Nepali brother” BTW, to address people in Nepal it is customary to call an older male "Dai" meaning older brother and a younger male "Bhai" meaning younger brother. (even if they are not your actual brother) You call an older female “Didi” and a younger female “Bahini”. This is more common than using the first name of the person. Brother before you go to Himal Pradesh for a trek, I highly recommend staying in Nepal and making an Annapurna trek from Pokhara. It is the perfect time of the year to make this trek. I suggest try the Ghorepani-Poon Hill to Ghandruk trek. It’s about 3 nights and 4 days. Ghandruk is a beautiful old-style traditional village of the Gurung people and from there you’ll get amazing close-up views of the Annapurna mountains and especially Machhapuchhre - the Fishtail mountain. Happy travels bro. Jai Nepal (long live Nepal)
Thank you very much for taking the time to write such a detailed comment. I learned a lot from it! Nepali hospitality is as no other! Thanks bhai or is it dhai? I don't know your age.

In the same time you might help the needy ones. Happy dashain.❤️❤️❤️
Yes they were truly happy, you're right but I kinda felt bad that they were sharing all their food and drinks with me and even giving me money for my blessing so I felt like I had to give something back. I am a big fan of your and I have been seen your video lots of thanks to that family they invite you to celebrate 🎊 Dashain and they are great and big heat family!!! Keep updating your video god bless you!!!
What Bharat did was beyond the amount he got paid but hey who is to say that we Neaplaese want money... We meaning Bharat's family showed true and genuine hospitality that even a few hundred dollars cannot buy...I believe most Nepalese would have done the same thing. Won't you?? At first, when he decided to go to the temple for tika I kinda felt bad for him but I was really amazed at how fast he could get Nepalese people who would invite him into their homes for this precious moment. You guys should give a shoutout to Bharat and his whole family. Also, any guest visiting Nepal should know about this vlog so that they can be aware of the fact that how much Nepalese hospitality can go if it comes to serving foreigners, tourists, and all other people who wish to visit Nepal. These small kinds of actions are what made Nepal an important destination for tourists who feel that even though they spend most of their money on luxurious things it is impossible to get in other countries. Coming from the background of the tourism industry I believe this is true for the whole Nepalese family. Look how even the kids were excited to see the unknown person at their home during the greatest festival of Nepalese people. Imagine if it were Christmas in the USA and imagine if you were invited to a Christmas celebration with an American faMILY. I KNOW MOST OF YOU CAN'T EVEN IMAGINE BECAUSE I BELIEVE MOST OF THE US(AMERICANS) ARE FOCUSED ON OUR OWN FAMILY DRAMA WE TEND TO FORGET THAT THE WORLD IS FULL OF PEOPLE(TBH 7-8 BILLION PEOPLE). I HAVE NO WORDS, AT LAST, TO EXPLAIN WHAT BHARAT AND HIS FAMILY DID TO THE BELGIUM GUY. I HAVE RESPECT FOR THE GUY WHO SHOWED ENTHUSIASM FOR OUR CULTURE AND WAY OF OUR LIFE. WHY CANNOT THE WESTERN COUNTRIES SHOW MORE LIKE THIS? WHY SHOULD THEY ALWAYS PORTRAY NEPAL AS BEING CORRUPTED AND NOT BEING A GOOD PLACE TO VISIT. IT ALSO GOES WITHOUT SAYING THAT WE DO NOT HAVE OUR OWN FAULTS. WE ARE SURROUNDED BY MISCONCEPTION, SUPERSTITION, AND A LOT OF CHALLENGES THAT WOULD OBSCURE US FROM BEING A MODERN COUNTRY BUT I BELIEVE THAT WITH TIME WE CAN MAKE CHANGES AND STAND FOR THE WELFARE OF THE GENERAL NEPALESE POPULATION.
iam very enjoy when i see your videos you enjoy nepali culture and nepalese , you are very humble person ,god blessed you anytime anywhere now I'm watching from malaysia

I might have to check that out then 😅
@@timtense you could get a video just on the night life, and The Rolling Stones Rock bar. Live music.

Monsoon till october is unheard in Nepal. This is where you get sunny days with blue skies before winter settles in.
Damn you CLIMATE CHANGE.
Also, no one does hospitality better than Nepali people. They invited a random person off the streets for a very personal festival.
Yes this late monsoon is annoying. Climate change is real. Hospitality has been overwhelming so far!
Ahh haha je bent er al, Im just catching up with all videos 😂

That was quite good video Nepal isn't too much develop county but the mind of Nepalese people is fully developed in such a situation
They have a big heart!
Thank u bro"Happy Dashain"
Happy belated Dashain!
You are absolutely right. The nice people is what what makes Nepal so beautiful and it's the reason that I'm going back!
Woow happy dashain
Verry nice
Happy Dashain to you too!
Happy dashain 🍀
