    Best review on this tent to date! It seems you could accomadate two people with some minor reconfiguration and a double cot setup? I'm just now moving past run of the mill popup tents as I'm going to be doing all season camping from here on out, I am sold on this one! How has the stove jack held up with use?

    • @mikenrickoutdoors

      Thank you for the thumbs up.
      This tent will accommodate two cots with some minor re-configuration but I would recommend you look at the 12'x12' tent instead of the 12'x12'. They are identical, with maybe one less window.
      I have run the stove extremely hot and it has held up great. There are some minor cracks due to the heat but it's still rainproof and nothing has melted.
      The floor mats have also been great with no damage to the floor, even with high temperatures, but I do double up on the mats.
      I still love the tent. The only better thing may be a truck camper but this is my favorite tent and it's holding up extremely well. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Nice; hunting on my spare time for 2 days some times 3 , this is not for me, I'm looking for quick setup and breakdown, i had my nylon tent for 13 years with a buddy heater and bring my harvest home to package. But tent is old and looking for other options. Thanks for sharing.

      Always glad to help. I'm heading out tomorrow with my other Kodiak Canvas tent. It's a FlexBow tent. They're both great.
      You can learn more about the FlexBow tent in one of our other reviews below.

    Im really torn between the flex bow 10x14 and this 10×10 cabin . I will be using it by my self in low country S.C . No stove will be needed so i think i will have plenty of room . They are close in price just can not make my mind up. Since you said you have the flex bow also what do you recommend

    • @mikenrickoutdoors
      @mikenrickoutdoors  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The Flex Bow is easier to setup and has plenty or room for a cot, chair, table and a Big Buddy heater. Check out this video here to see how I laid it out.
      th-cam.com/video/MCtSaGe5sAE/w-d-xo.html
      I would go with the Flex Bow unless you really need the extra room. Let me know if you have any other questions.

      Yah, it's great for one person and their dog. Mike has the 12'x12' and it's big enough for two people and two dogs...okay, maybe one dog. I love these tents. They are the best I have ever used.

      @@mikenrickoutdoors mine is an inexpensive VEVOR "portable" but I'm setting it aside and I'm getting the HCALORY 12V Portable one that comes in a case. it's only 80.00 and should be well worth it for the price point.

    1 person tent? lol. Guess ya like to sprawl out a bit. It looks big enough for my family of 5. Just no table, or lounge chairs. lol. Thanks for the view though and I’ve already ordered mine.

    I have the Kodiak canvas 12x16 cabin tent.
    4 people can sleep along side walls leaving lots of room in the middle to set up a table to gather at.

      That is a tent I want to get soon and I'm thinking that will handle a wood stove better than the 10'x10' I have as it can get to warm in that tent with my current wood stove.

    THIS is the video I’ve been looking for. We’ve been eyeing this tent for a few months now and wondering if it would fit our fam of 4 plus a dog. We bought the NF Wawona 6 and it did not fit our family at all.

      With a family of 4, I would take a hard look at the 12'x12' tent that Mike has. It's the same as mine but will give you some extra room. You can learn more about his tent in the video links below.

    Thanks for the video. Can you suggest if 12*12 will be too big for typical camp grounds?

    • @mikenrickoutdoors
      @mikenrickoutdoors  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      From my experience here in Colorado with most of the camp grounds, it would fit well. I have seen a few, closer to Denver and Colorado Springs that would be a little suspect, but that's not the norm.
      I have the 10'x10' and a larger Coleman tent, and Mike has the 12'x12' and we have never had a problem at the campgrounds we have stayed at.

    How many mats do you have under the stove?

    • @mikenrickoutdoors

      Two, and I have had it really hot and have not had a problem. I could try one mat but I like overlapping them to give me more coverage in front of the door.

    The only flaw see what this tent is there’s no pass-throughs

    • @mikenrickoutdoors
      @mikenrickoutdoors  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm not sure what you're saying. There is one door and five or six windows with two vent at the top.
      Please explain what you're referring to as pass-throughs.
      Rick

    • @tonycuciniello6373
      @tonycuciniello6373 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don’t see a port to run a propane, line and extension cord, or use a diesel heater in that tent.. a pass-through would be an opening to run peripheral items through

    • @mikenrickoutdoors
      @mikenrickoutdoors  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That makes sense. You're right. I run the hose out the door of the tent and leave a small slit in the opening.
      I'm wondering if there is an easy way to create a pass-thru. I'm going to look into that.
      Thanks for bringing this up.

      Thank you bud please let me know if you figure out something .I really like to tent and I was thinking about getting one. I do have three different heating systems, the woodstove, the propane stove, and a diesel heater depending on my situation I like to use one or the other or two different heating sources

    • @mikenrickoutdoors
      @mikenrickoutdoors  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great points. My favorite so far is the Big Buddy, but I'm starting to look into the diesel heaters.
      The problem I was having with the wood stove was controlling the amount of oxygen getting into the stove which was heating me out of the tent. I bought some heat resistant sealer to go around the opening of the door to reduce the oxygen amount, but I haven't test it yet this winter.
